OK BUT LIKE. LISTEN. THE PEVENSIES EMERGING AS VICTORS. no one expects them all to make it, but they do, they prove themselves a sort of terrifying team (they don’t think they’re terrifying, they’re just fighting for each other’s lives) and then they WIN and they return but they’re different, they’re scarred. they make it through a year or two of training other tributes until they all start to fall apart (susan gets pulled into the capitol’s social scene somehow, possibly marrying some higher-up’s son) and then the REBELLION comes along...!

THIS.. !!! and honestly the constant comparison to Robb in the fandom is insulting imo too... Robb will go down in legend for what he was, despite the mistakes he made.... Jon Snow will just be the one who cleaned up the mess. Not to mention he’s not full blooded Stark.... IF we follow the idea that he IS Rhaegar’s son, it’s an EVEN BIGGER insult that he’s kitn considering that the Targaryen’s are the ones who “conquered” the North. ( coughs that kneeling bastard..... B|| )

but I bet you even if that little secret comes out in Show they’ll all just write it off... and then you’ll have a Targ as kitn and that has my Robb rolling his grave.

consider that she wasn’t particularly smug about the sarcastic comment to begin with    --    now take into account the dishwater-dipped sunlight that has become lucy pevensie’s expression of choice.    her brow snaps to its natural place as a solid and deprecating frown, hands still tucked in the lax crossed arms elyse seems particularly fond of grouching about with.    she’s having one of her rainy days    --    that’s what, distantly, someone she once knew well used to call her spells.    where she’d become faraway, displaced, wholly unsympathetic to the plight of the world.    this is where she is divided greatly from lucy’s kindly nature, and offending a girl with such a golden heart seems clearly indicative of her own state of disrepair.

                    “  right.    you should be.  ”    soft voice seems meagre in making amends, and the frown remains even past an encouraging tone.    very much spring and winter traipsing away from a sweaty lacrosse field.    it’s a wonder lucy’s compatriots don’t offer her a parasol to shelter from a wintry blaze.    “  i was doing one figuratively, really.    and i mean it.    you did a good job, lu.  ”

Unpopular Opinion Thingy + narnia?

ok there might be a lot of these i need to Vent. 

it seems relatively (and by that i mean i’m not the only person to believe it) popular here, but it doesn’t seem to be as highly-regarded an opinion elsewhere that the aesthetic/build/fashion of narnia might be closer to something like ancient rome/ancient greece than the middle ages. i don’t know. i think a land where there haven’t REALLY been humans in ages wouldn’t go from that to middle-ages-type garb without something in between. i think it’s possible that it slowly BECOMES more like, particularly after the pevensies depart. but. i don’t know. i tend to picture ARCHENLAND being more medieval/middle-age-y than narnia, i don’t know, friends. 

AND THEN there’s this idea that narnia? is a paradise? like some fairy tale world where everyone is kind and good and Nothing Bad Happens Ever and i can’t stress enough how WRONG that is. narnia is fallen, in much the same way earth is. the parallels there are exceedingly strong. it’s created by aslan singing everything into being, and then darkness slips in with jadis (awakened by a human being’s folly/not listening to directions/you get the idea). narnia has its darkness. it’s wild and untamed and, in the time of the pevensies’ rule, still host to the witch’s followers and others who wouldn’t have wanted strange sons of adam and daughters of eve ruling over them. there were giants and wars (and wars WITH giants) and all manner of other things. the pevensies did not have a peaceful land to rule, but one wild and war-like and ONLY JUST RECOVERING FROM A HUNDRED YEARS OF WINTER. of course, lewis’ depictions of animals like…sitting down for tea? probably doesn’t help that image much? but it’s definitely THERE. the paradise everyone with that idea is thinking of is the NEW NARNIA. 

also, everything in narnia is alive. i’m pretty much convinced of that. the stars are people. there is a literal End of the Earth where the sky and sea meet. this concept isn’t too far fetched. EVERYTHING is living/sentient in some way. the ground. the sky. the seas. cair paravel. maybe not sentient in quite the same way that the people/talking animals are, but in a way much different from the way of things on earth.
