This was getting to be a bit much for her. All the people, all the laughter and dancing... It shouldn’t affect her this way, it shouldn’t make her want to scream and run or both at the same time. A reminder of where she came from.
“Parties still kind of make me..” she didn’t know how to explain the anxiety and bitterness she still felt. How it twisted her stomach into knots and filled her with a deep-seeded anger that she still couldn’t seem to get rid of. “No, no. It wasn’t anyone else did. Just the entire thing. It runs in the family,” Mal said dryly, once they were outside and sitting on the bench. She was grateful for Frida’s kindness and her concern. It was what kept the two of them separate from prying eyes inside. “We’re a line of party poopers.”

“Oh come on, Frida, don’t be so dramatic.” Elsa sighed, rolling her eyes at her daughter. It had been exactly three days since Frida snuck out to go to a party one of the citizen’s son threw, a party Elsa had forbidden her to go to, especially without a guard. So, the younger blonde had been grounded for exactly three weeks, including the festival they were organizing to celebrate Anna and Kristoff’s wedding anniversary. “It is your own fault and you are definitely overreacting.”

Oh, please tell you didn’t do anything. Is it that boy I heard Sanna talk about earlier? This is the moment you realize you should have listened to your mother when she warned you about men, isn’t it?”
