I hate to bother you but i have been a fan of yours since OUAT and now i have shifted into the Marvel fandom because of you. Hell, you even got me liking Hockey. I am a multi shipper but i've seen that you have respect and love for a certain character even if you don't ship him with anyone. I am coming to you because i hope this is a safe place. I am coming to you as a Steve fan. I am coming to you as a Bucky fan. I am coming to you as a Stucky shipper. But most of all, i am coing to you as a Sam Wilson fan.
My heart hurts at the hate that Sam gets. What hurts even more is that majority of these hateful, vile, racist and hurtful comments are coming from people who claim to love Steve, Bucky and Stucky. These are the same people who will call Bucky, Peggy, Clint and Walker Captain America or Cap but Sam isn't allowed the same title ? They keep saying that Sam is trying to replace Steve. Sam Wilson is his own man just like Steve is his own man. I feel as though that i am a part of a very small group of Stucky shippers who actually loves and respects Sam. I see Sam's worth. Now, i'm not naive. I know every person isn't going to like every character and that's fine but they take it so far with Sam. The racist comments, fat shaming Anthony Mackie for not being built like Seb and Chris, making fun of his Cap suit and saying he looks like a clown, being petty and trashing Anthony's gap and goatee. I saw someone say that in order to be Cap, you must have straight teeth, no gaps allowed. WTF ?
I fear these haters want to see Anthony/Sam fail as Captain America. And some are even hoping that if they are loud enough that Marvel will replace Sam as Cap and put their fave in. #SamWilsonIsCaptainAmerica #AnthonyMackieIsCaptainAmerica. Thank you for being a part of the few that loves and respects Sam Wilson.

To begin with, yes, this is absolutely a safe place for you and anyone else, even if we don't ship (or full on ship) the same ships.
The hate that Sam gets, particularly from those people you mentioned, enrages me to my core. Because you are right. Sam is his own man, with his own unique personality and quirks to love and respect. I've never understood how some people see him as less than Steve or Bucky because, to me, he's been standing on his own as an equally compelling character since Cap 2. That movie may have been about the next phase in Bucky and Steve's friendship (or relationship, if you ship Stucky), but Sam fucking Wilson was a core part of that story. Without him there, it completely changes. And those who don't see that, who don't see Sam's worth and claim he doesn't deserve to hold the mantle of Cap, can very unkindly go fuck themselves.
It's racism. Pure and simple. They can say it's not, that it's because of x and y, but at the end of the day, that's what drives their comments and shitty remarks. Because if it really were about x and y, then those people would have an issue with Bucky and Peggy picking up the shield as well. But they don't.
And what they'll never realize is that Steve Rogers would be fucking ashamed of them and livid at the things they are saying.
(Phew. Okay, got that off my chest. Hiiiiii!! It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside to know I've brought people from my home fandom into my other various hodgepodge of fandoms that I've apparently been collecting like infinity stones over the years, haha But, seriously, my ask box is always open to you!)
