Congratulations to the Ogden Middle School math team Cindy Ye, Lizzy Brahin, Tony Martin, Aidan Vaughan, Alicia Xia, and Lara Villano in an outstanding showing at this year's CJML tournament! Our 7th grade team earned first place today in total points. Special congratulations to Tony Martin for earning second place in the individual competition and Alicia Xia for earning first place in the individual competition. Finally, congratulations to Tony and Alicia for tieing for first place in the cumulative individual score for 7th graders over the entire year. Everyone has worked hard and we are looking forward to another great year next year!
Ahead of a possible merger between Ogden and Jenner schools, officials are bringing the kids together.
This past fall leaders at Jenner Academy of the Arts, 1119 N. Cleveland Ave., and Ogden International's elementary school, 24 W. Walton Ave., developed the programming partnership called JOLT, which stands for Jenner and Ogden Learning Together.
As part of the new partnership, students from both schools came together for a concert in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Friday held at Park Community Church, 1001 N. Crosby St. About 25 kids from each school participated. The concert ended with students from both schools joining to sing "Glory" by Common and John Legend.
