Hfhjdjhaf OH MY GOD! While cleaning I came across this pattern of the Jabba the Hutt pillow I made together with my mom a few years ago. =‘‘‘D After seeing this video and the hilariously horrible creature it includes, my brother pretty much demanded to get one for himself. And boy did we deliver! For reasons that I don’t remember anymore I never apparently got any photos of this cursed creature myself, so here are a couple of pics taken by my bro @oglob.

This has been without a doubt one of the best, busiest summer's I've had, a chaotic cocophany of music and art all crammed into about 3 months. Multiple outings to Montreal, a couple wonderful events down in Cobourg, gracing the Spore Stage with Oglob at Solstice, and many other unforgettable events have really made this a year to remember! Darn I had fun with the Eurovision this year! There was not exactly anything all that spectacular, but the overall quality was still nice and I got to watch it together with my brother - and I loved the winner, which is pretty uncommon (but certainly not unheard of). Gotta do a bit more detailed list about all the songs I liked later.

Pondering about Minecraft and me and my brother’s playing styles in general, mostly for my own amusement.

Me and my bro have been occasionally playing Minecraft together for a while now. It has been nice, since we don’t live in the same household anymore and therefore it’s not as easy as it used to be to play together. Back in the days we played through many video games using always the same strategy: he played and I told him what to do, especially if he got stuck. And that was the same strategy we used today to beat the Ender dragon.

I actually never thought I would get to fight that “final boss” of the game, but... Accidents happen. =‘) My brother had been preparing to get to the ending stage and even though he wasn’t going to go there yet, he was about to activate a portal which leads to the stage and I tagged along to see it happen. The portal was created - and poof! My brother, who apparently was too close to it, got sucked in. I, unlike him, knew already what was waiting in there, so I hastily did some preparations I thought were necessary, but he died just seconds before I was ready to jump after him. After that, even though more preparing would’ve been wise, we both jumped in to the portal to salvage his stuff. To our disappointment the items had already disappeared, and we were stuck in the Ender world.

The end stage of Minecraft is a grim place, with a lot of tough enemies and a dragon which regenarates health by using crystals that are located on top of tall pillars. The game doesn’t tell you what to do, but I had luckily read about the final battle in advance, thinking spoiling myself wouldn’t matter since there was no way I would be ever going to that place. So I did what I had always done: told my brother what to do, and he went away and did that. I also provided him a lot of stuff he needed: arrows to shoot the crystals with, food to keep his health up and a pumpkin to keep him safe from endermen (yeees Minecrafts logic is sometimes a bit unusual). I also shot a few crystals and dealt a blow or two to the dragon, but there was really no contest about who did the actual work, since I am plain bad at that kind of stuff. But the thing is... We both survived. We killed the Ender dragon together. I doubt neither of us could’ve done it without another, not at least without multiple failures.

And if that wasn’t cool enough, after the hassle we got to see the very unusual ending sequence. It has pretty much nothing to do with Minecraft, which is why it came so out of the blue, but which also means everyone who doesn’t even know a thing about Minecraft can get amazed by it. Go ahead and watch/read it!

There is this constant ongoing battle between people saying "everything was better in the old days" and the people answering them with "no, memories just feel sweeter afterwards". While I usually tend to lean towards the latter, this time I think I have to make an exception.

I was at my brother's place yesterday - of course because he is my beloved sibling, but krhm mainly because he recently bought himself a PS3. Neither of us have had a gaming console (excluding my handhelds) since PS2 and Gamecube, so of course I was pretty excited. I also uh pretty much begged him to buy the old Spyro trilogy for it when I learned you can do it via some modern shenanigan, Playstation Network or something it was called, so when he did we pretty much ended up playing the first Spyro game for the whole night instead of anything new and fancy. (Though for us it was new, since we never had it when it was first published. We just saw/played small glimpses of it in our friend's place.)

The thing is, that game caused something I haven't experienced in ages with any game: it made me completely lose track of time. When we finally went to sleep I though the clock would be something like 3 am, but it was 6 am instead. The last time I've played anything with that kind of intensity was maybe when Skyrim was new, and before that... I have no idea.

And while I've recently been also introduced to some mobile games like Angry Birds and such by the same brother o' mine, I have to admit that for some reason old games still entertain me 248781235 times better than these new fashionable ones. I get bored with Daddy Longlegs in less than five minutes. I don't understand the appeal of raging wingless birds. Playing their games don't give me any kind of satisfaction at all, while on the other hand I could apparently play Spyro for 24/7 without even noticing it.

While my brother was visiting my place we also finally watched Disney's Frozen. It wasn't nearly as bad as all the internet criticism had led me to believe, and I actually enjoyed it quite a lot. It wasn't GREAT great, but definitely worth watching anyway! I could actually put few thoughts about it under a cut, too, since they are going to be a bit spoilerish.

The most thing I've seen people complain was the same face syndrome of the main characters. While I do agree that doing the things that way was a lazy move from Disney, it actually didn't bother me at all while watching the actual movie. It wasn't too obvious when the characters were moving instead of just posing around with identical expressions.

Hans's betrayal was performed very nicely! Beforehand I was sure he was going to be smirking behind Anna's back all the time and making his scam clear to the audience every way he could, but that was not the case. There were hints of his plans, but they were subtle enough to not reveal his plans right away.

I actually managed to keep myself from hearing Let It Go before this, and god damn I liked the song a lot! It was catchy, but most importantly its message hit me quite hard. Urrrgh all the feels!

Only thing I was disappointed with was the way the movie ended without explaining some of the things that would really have interested me. Why did Elsa decide to again open the gates of the castle for people after all the things they tried to do to her, for example? And how come everyone suddenly accepted her powers, when the same people were just a moment ago trying to hunt her down because of them? Sure yeah yeah, Anna taught her sister that she loves her and the common people were relieved when their queen learned to control her powers, but... That doesn't feel quite enough.

If I would've been in charge I think I would have cut Olaf and a couple of songs out completely. The comical relief character didn't feel necessary at all, and at the beginning of the movie everything seemed to be just singing.

So, even though I had a couple of complaints to make, I liked the movie in its entirety. Surely worth watching, if Disney's princess stories are to your liking!
