does kirrily miss the stars?
ohhhh....if i may....
kirrily may take this question as, well of course not, the stars are still there! even though this world is different, it has a similar space, and although they're relearning all the constellations and how the psychics of this planet, Kirrily is quite assured their sky is still the same.
but...does Kirrily want it to be the same, truly? their memory has not faded where they would like it to. they remember the oppressive silence, the nerve-deep cold they still shiver from even on the warmest nights in Cradle's attic. they remember how it felt to be so alone, but not just the loneliness of isolation, but the loneliness of oh i am going to die here because no one else can find me. Kirrily was beside themselves for a long time, the last and youngest and most inexperienced of their space-ferrying crew. the hopes of the others were that Kirrily would be saved, but no one was left to comfort them when Kirrily realized they were not going to be. no one but the stars, however distant they were. forever remaining constant just out of reach...help so far away yet in plain sight...
the stars provide a bit of reassurance yet horror for Kirrily, they are deeply fascinated with them and this obsession keeps them sated. while Kirrily does live as if the vastness of space is constantly looming above them threatening to suffocate them, they are at peace with surveying them from the ground, and find great joy in that control they have again.
