Dramatic kitten is a bit tired after 5 minutes of trick training
"There are a MILLION different ways you could have confessed to me but lighting my kitchen on fire is has to be the WORST one-"
Alfred at least has the decency to look repentent standing in the middle of Arthur’s charred kitchen and holding a now empty fire extinguisher and at least has the sense God gave him to bite his tongue about how Arthur lights his own kitchen on fire all the time. “Yeah, I know… I mean… I didn’t mean to–”
Arthur sputters, flustered from the sight he’d walked into and now from Alfred’s apparent idiocy. “You lit fireworks off INDOORS! What did you honestly think would happen?”
“They weren’t supposed to go off inside!” Alfred protests, but then deflates. He sets the red empty red canister on the slightly singed table and tries to wipe some of the ash off of his face with the back of his arm, but it doesn’t work. “Okay. Well… that’s okay. I’m sorry, Arthur. I’ll fix your kitchen and then I… I won’t make you put up with me anymore. I’m a lousy friend anyway.”
“You big dolt.” Arthur throws his arms around Alfred’s middle, tucking his head under Alfred’s chin, heedless of the soot getting all over him. “It’s alright. Accidents happen and… I love you too… and of course I will go out with you because clearly you need adult supervision at all times.”

I love Al’s speech here, but man, it must be tough being in his shoes here. Here’s another man like him, a Vietnam veteran who’s been through tough times, and Al is nearly powerless to help him out.
