the thing that gets me about the “robot wants to be human/experience human emotion” storyline is that, isn’t desire an emotion? isn’t “want” a very human thing to experience? and if the robot/android’s interest in emotion is based in curiosity isn’t that also an emotional response? like isn’t the basis of ‘curiosity’ the want, the desire to learn? this is incoherent
