He was minding his own business. Really a low time in the day where he was caught up. He thought the best course of action would just to organize the library now that he had a minute. Sliding his hand across the shelves, books flung from one end of the library to the other, carefully being slotted into their proper place.
He couldn’t shake a strange, uneasy feeling. Like something was coming after him, something dangerous, but he didn’t know what. He knew his instincts told him better than anyone, but he was in his library, he was invincible here... Perhaps whatever threat came his way... He’d be prepared.
>> You return to Limbo Town, Jinx disguised and close behind. It's the same as you remember. Actually? You can't spot any differences at all besides a slightly bigger population, but that's not hard to achieve when the last time you'd been home all the men had been killed, not your fault but still.
>> No one takes notice of the two of you as you move through the gloomy, raining town, careful to not draw attention to yourself. You easily slip back into the mindset of this town though you'd never been too good at it. You leave Teekl with Jinx while you go steal what you needed, two Cruxiforms, little glowing wands used for easily commanding the dead. You'd pick up just one but you think Jinx will enjoy the fun you're planning and you'd rather not leave her out of it. In and out, simple to do when you know where to go and how to get what you want. Your mind wanders to a little more mischevious thought, your eyes falling on the Submissionary's staff. You wouldn't need it... but it would be fun. Fun but a danger as well. The thought is tempting but you leave it be. The Horigal shall stay below ground as it should, with the frightened town of Limbo. You take two cruxiforms and return back to Jinx and Teekl quickly.
>> On your way out you spot a familiar owl though it looks much older than it did when you were young, the sight of it still makes you pause and stare, a small sick feeling making your stomach bubble. It's Jinx's voice that snaps you out of it, asking if you're alright. You give a small nod as the owl flies off before you hurry back to the gate that leads to the tunnels out. You leave and seal the gate again, just like no one has entered in the years that you've been gone. It's a long trek back up through the tunnels but you never hear anything but the chatter of Teekl in your head and Jinx's occasional comments. The tunnels are quiet, all is quiet as you and Jinx clamber out of the old train tunnels of Manhattan. The frustrated cry of your sister doesn't reach your ears, far, far below the ground.
>> Joining the fight yesterday had been a huge hit to your pride and despite winning against Raven a few times you're smart enough to know that it was solely because of Jinx by your side. This fact doesn't help your mood one bit and neither does Jinx's high spirits. You're bitter and upset and after hiding yourself away for a while to vent your frustrations with yourself and your lacking skills you return back to the main part of the house. You find Jinx lounging about and are grateful when she doesn't seem upset at all by your disappearance. She even goes so far to reassure you and it lifts your spirits just the slightest.
>> She runs her hand through your hair and you sigh, shoulders relaxing. Your chest does that odd little fluttering again and you can't help but shift a little. It isn't uncomfortable, just warm and consistent and there. You've never been one for romantic feelings but there's an inkling telling you that this is possibly just that. Your eyes drift up to catch a set of impossible pink cat eyes and your chest flutters again. Today, you think you will recover your pride and focus on Jinx instead. Earth can handle itself.
I’ll gut you like a fish, Jinx.
>> All of a sudden the pressure snaps.
>> You're still home, still have Jinx, maybe you are holding her captive just a bit, but it's out of worry. You're showing her how you can shift your home however you need when you feel the snap and the heat race up your spine. Teekl reacts similarly, hissing and arching her back, yowling in distress at the sudden happening. You stagger a bit, not quite ready for the emotional weight that gets dropped on you. Jinx shows obvious concern but you hold your hand up to keep her at a distance, surely she won't like that but you need space for the moment. Everything is too much and you have to snap at Teekl to get her chattering out of your head. You have to gather yourself, you'd been keeping a thought on the strange pressure since you felt it yesterday and the sudden growth has you a bit stunned. Placing a hand to your temple you focus on here and now and pick the emotions apart. It only takes a few minutes before you can pull your scattered thoughts together. You don't have an eye on Earth currently but you can feel what's happening. Something bigger than has happened in a while, an...evil destructive presence. It almost feels like a child that suddenly realized all the things they could do and had started running around out of control. Your ears droop the tiniest bit and you glance to Teekl then to Jinx before pulling your gaze away and back to the far wall. This was none of your business. You didn't quite like that whatever was wrecking havoc on Earth had no part from yourself but...that's how it went. Surely whatever it was would be squashed out by the League within the day~ No worries.
>> You brush the pressure off, though it sticks somewhat like a parasite in the back of your head. Explaining briefly to Jinx what just happened before you change the subject, you're not messing with Earth right now, nope. You might peek in on it later but not now.
>> She threatens you not to but it simply incites a challenge in your mind. You know she’ll fight back, she follows through with her promises. You turn and let your tongue click against the back of your teeth in two quick “Tsk, tsk~” sort of sounds. Before you know it she’s got a hold of you and you’re being thrown over Jinx’s shoulder and then she’s on top of you, pinned you on the floor. You blink and something flutters in your chest as you look up at her, that smug, proud look all across her face. Then there are soft lips on yours and gone again a moment later, she’s up and dusting herself off and you’re still stunned, chest fluttering in such a ridiculous sort of way.
>> “I warned you” Her voice chimes and you can’t help but touching your fingers to your lips when you sit up again. Yes, yes she did.
Jinx always supplies such pleasant company~
