my referring to john constantine as a "white dude in a weird trench coat" just honestly got me thinking about that one scene from the constantine show where he is lurking outside a school on this kid who's like possessed and starts getting yelled at by a teacher who goes "what's inside that trench coat?" and john just stares at him and then goes "i am"

Yes to all of that. But also, having read City of Demons, I *need* the Demon Blood stuff. Like, maybe it can be left-over corruption from Pazuzu, but I need to see John commanding a legion of brainwashed infected that think he's their master.

Yeah the demon blood is such an important part of Hellblazer mythology that it’d have to show up somewhere; I mean I just find it hilarious that like 90 issues later John still gets itchy about stepping into churches because, y’know, demon blood (as though there were not so many other reasons for John to avoid churches).

I mean my guess/hope is that they would’ve ended Season 1 with it, as one of the final necessary measures to deal with The Rising Darkness. So in my version it’d have to be at some point in ~mythical season 2~.
