I have a 'oh men' to discuss today,,, but this one is a man I have admired from a far !
( no electrical probes up the ass this time!! etc, etc !!!).
Now my childhood was to say at the very least interesting.
Sadly my parents often ended up touring without me, as my schooling was very important to them, ( as it should be, lol)
So I was shipped around to my Gran parent's, Aunties and Uncles places,, all adding to my upbringing in a weird way.
Now I have discuss Aunty Gean's pigeons and Aunty Kitty"s hippos and god forbid my Pop bees many of times !!
Even my Great Uncle Barry the poodle snow sled team racer, has his memories on here,,
Now sadly he is gone to that ski field in the sky
But what was interesting about Great Uncle Barry was he built and designed artificial limbs!! Legs mostly and he had a habit of bringing them home from work,,, of course my Pop was a engineer too and those weekends not playing chess or sitting in a nut and bolt shops, were sitting in a big engineer workshop surrounded by lots of legs and dangerous machine's
Weird you say! Yep
Barry was one of the first to step away from the look of limbs to look natural ( with limited movement) to making them work natural like a real leg.
I even recall once Pop and Barry welding a leaf spring to a stump to give it the 'bounce' required!
I like to think my leg brace, I wear from time to time, may have been part of my crazy Pop and Barry's ideas and designs in that engineering work shop garage those crazy weekends long long ago
