Cactus got her nails trimmed which she hates so she pooped. Aster has to be right in my face no matter what I'm doing so he managed to get poop on him. I had to give him a bath, all three of us got covered in hedgehog shit and all three of us hate each other.
I’ve really busy and gone off most social media in the past few weeks (“few“ lol like about 2. Certainly feels longer), to make things worse, my longest-living pet rat died on Thursday. He’s my heart rat, my best little dude, and had been there with me through quite a few big life events. It was very hard to grapple with the reality that I’ll no longer hear his little feet running around and have his tiny kisses on my hand. And the millions of other things he did. People have been telling me that he had a good life and was a happy rat (he was a happy rat, true; and he was so good with every guest we’ve had. Everyone loved him), but as a owner, I just can’t help but wonder if I could have done something differently that day and maybe he’d been with us longer:( I know he’s an old rat, but he seemed so fit and alive, I just didn’t expect that he’d gone so sudden. We’ve just been to the vets three days ago.
To quote a friend:
“Rats shine so bright yet so short” Now I’ve still got those photos, videos, memories, and his sons. But he took a little part of my heart away with him.
