The reviews that compared it to a rom-com were spot on.
It felt more like a buddy cop movie to me, but LBR the line between buddy film and romcom are RAZOR THIN at the best of times :D

So I haven’t really been paying attention to Venom, because I am apparently alone in not liking Tom Hardy, but this is the first time I’ve heard that Riz Ahmed is even IN the movie

when riz said "trust me" that one time, i trusted him, even though i knew full well what he was going to do. that's acting!!
What struck me is how straight-faced he delivered the worst of his lines. Like, he’s got some of your standard creepy monologuing going on, but what really got me was that most of the super evil stuff he says flies right by you because he doesn’t chew them as he says them. His complete lack of empathy or concern for the human beings he interacts with on every level could have been really serial-killer ominous but instead he delivers them like he’s giving orders at a business meeting and it’s fantastic.

That makes a ton of sense, actually, because I was sitting in the movie literally going “This is not the kind of movie critics normally hate. This is the kind of movie they usually call a Fun Action Romp. Why did they hate this?” But that makes a ton of sense.

The official timeline is [gently smouldering pile of documents] but it comes down to whether Uprising happened before Retribution or not. There’s something about an overwatch official being killed in one of the panels of the Uprising comic, and I took that to mean Gerard, which would put Uprising later (and therefore Ana still ‘alive’ in Retribution) but who the hell knows. oh my god I got some dark af shit sitting in the “ideas” folder that I refuse to even talk about, but maybe someday. As for the actual ‘worst’ xD not in terms of “yikes horrible writing” (at least in my opinion?? take my word with a grain of salt), but I’m going to say A Dance of Titans simply because it’s gotten so obnoxiously long it’s kind of ridiculous?? ahahaha. idk idk idk tho. It’s still my baby, even if it’s like… 300k words now.
7. What is your fandom guilty pleasure?
Lmao so… I was recently introduced to the ‘Frussy’ thing floating around and at first I needed eye bleach but after not being able to escape it, a hilarious one-shot written by somebody, and all the art floating around, I’m ridiculously amused by the thing and it’s currently my most bizarre guilty pleasure. This might change in like a week tho, give it time.

Spent in bed, reading fanfic and window shopping for stuff I can’t afford. I had smoked salmon canapes, tea cakes, and cherries for lunch. I still have some chocolate raspberry marzipan layer cake waiting for me in the kitchen. I can think of worse ways to spend a day :-D

Just purely out of curiosity, if you re-heat the caramel sauce, can you eat it then? Or does it have to be fresh?
If it cools then I reheat it I get the same itching/cotton ball mouth reaction. I can literally only eat it fresh, it’s the weirdest thing.

Well, it’s a small(ish) population comparatively, and I guess if your scandinavian comes direct from the old country -- rather than from, say, somewhere Vikings used to maraud frequently -- then the odds are actually pretty high. It absolutely is wild though.

Possibly. Other people said that you have to wait for the timer to tick down, but there was no timer that I saw, and I was standing there for like, five minutes trying to get it to DO ANYTHING and nothing happened.

Oh man, yeah I could see how that would be really terrible in more populated areas. I've been liking the raids, but to be honest, we don't have that many gyms here, and everything is really spread out (which I think also keeps some of the novelty, because we also always get quite a few people at each raid), and the gyms are almost never full, which has been nice. Before it was actually harder for me to get a Pokemon in a gym, or it would have taken way too long to build it up.
Yeah, see there’s like...five gyms between my bus stop and my home, and shitloads of gyms in the nearby park, but Chicago is also an incredibly dense urban population, and I live next to a giant high school and two separate universities. I have yet to see a gym that wasn’t full, of any team. :D

I haven't had the opportunity to try yet, but learning you can spin gyms like pokestops is interesting to me.
I mean...it basically means, between the six-pokemon limit and the spinny, that gyms have functionally been replaced by pokestops, at least for me. You can spin them but it’s the same as spinning a pokestop, so there’s no real like, intrigue there. :D
