Like Laura, I too have been burned by too many things going wrong or ruining my plans to feel proper true hope here. Everything is pointing towards this all working out but still.. I just feel a black ball and chain weighing my spirits down because it would hurt too much to feel let down by life once more...That said, yeah its hard to not feel just a teensy bit excited too. The new place is a house share with somebody I knew from my 20s who.. lets jsut say has a lot in common with me. We got back in touch last year and now shes looking for a live in housemate. Seeing her place for the first time was exciting because in all honestly its a lovely little house. The location is great too, moving me closer to my old unis main campus (not Derby, fuck Derby) and its also 2 min away from a supermarket and the town centre where I spent my 20′s going out drinking with friends. Its kind of a second hometown for me already so I don’t feel too intimidated by it.Actually, there’s another exciting prospect on the horizon as well. A friend of mine who works in an amazing school up in Liverpool got in touch with me about maybe supporting with specialist transgender pastoral care on a voluntary monthly basis. I think it could be the perfect thing to give me a sense of wroth about my place in the education system again and at the very least help remind me of the skills I have and use those skills to inspire and help a younger generation of transgender people with their daily lives.We need to work out the details of that one but I really want something to come of it!
