Okay so the whole thing with Sobral is just weird. Like even when he won he did this whole thing where he made some snide comments about ‘manufactured music’ and I’m just like... aren’t you famous for being on the Portuguese X Factor? And your sister wrote your song for you, like... how do you think you’re suddenly better than this? I just have a lot of feelings and no outlet, I’m sorry haha.

He’s such an ass and I love how so many people are defending him like “everyone has his opinions and tastes!!!” like yes, fair enough, but not fucking diss other songs and artists as “horrible” when you WON the eurovision

Okay, question. Does Maltese have that one sound that's like... stronger than a 'h', but not quite as strong as the voiceless velar fricative (like Dutch 'g', Russian 'x', that sort of thing)? I read that it exists in most Semitic languages? And if it does exist, would it make someone difficult to understand if they just plain couldn't do it?

I’d say Maltese Ħ is the same as a regular H in English

In Denmark right now they're worried about not enough babies being born, so there are adverts for people to send their (adult) children on holiday so that they can conceive a child. Its called the 'do it for mom!' campaign and it is quite literally the creepiest thing ever. (This was supposed to be related to that political party talking about raising the Estonian population but I'm starting to realise that it kind of isn't. *scuttles away*)

Estonian population growth is very negative with people emigrating and dying quicker than we reproduce. No one wants to come here either. Last time it was positive it was 2010 and it was by like, 35 babies. Estonian population will fall under million if we don’t do anything about it lol.

So yeah, our political party wants to increase it by bringing in immigrants, something which people are sceptical about..
