oof i don’t usually put much thought into charden but this is abt to get real cute real fast i just know it

dennis can be himself around charlie more than any other member of the gang. charlie might still be a little judgmental and argumentative but he’s not gonna make a big deal out of anything. dennis will talk to him abt his problems and charlie will zone in and out as he talks but he gets the gist and sometimes dennis just needs somebody to listen yanno

oi oi oi isn’t the only way dennis helps charlie calm down. he gives good back rubs and he sings lullabies. frank asks for backrubs but dennis would literally rather die lmfao he makes that v clear

they rage together. mac can come too for this one. but mac is always trying to show off and he ends up trying to fight one of them and he loses and it’s annoying so it’s more fun if it’s just charlie and dennis breakin bottles and yelling together :) dennis is the only person charlie trusts enough to show his bad room to

frank is v close to charlie and he’s there for him sure but he just sort of brushes off any serious problems he might wanna bring up. it’s always “stuff it down with brown” with him. he talks to mac too but he’s kinda dumb lol so dennis is a good person for charlie to talk to. it’s always when they’re drunk or high but they bond thru shared trauma u know. i don’t think they’d openly talk abt it but just in a sort of vague sense that is cathartic to both of them.

ok these might just be general charden hcs at this point but uh mac was the mutual friend that brought them together right so at first they didn’t rly get along so well. what with dennis being a spoiled rich kid and charlie being a delinquent who didn’t bathe properly

they bond over shit talking mac what else do you want me to say i’m not gonna lie to you guys lmfao

they defended each other from bullies 😌 charlie would take beating for dennis and dennis would spread positive rumors abt charlie and bad ones abt the bullies😌 charmacden would scheme against them together, most of the time it backfired but sometimes they got a win

anyways they’re good babysitters to each other when drunk. i like to hc that mac doesn’t get blackout drunk nearly as much as charlie and dennis, so a lot of times it’s just them getting absolutely wasted together. they’ve seen each other do some embarrassing stuff they’ve been vulnerable they’ve fought they’ve sung duets together 🥺🥺 many times they’ve woken up next to each other feeling like shit and not remembering a single thing from the night b4

when charlie is rly drunk and dennis isn’t, he’s good at making sure he goes to bed on time and he doesn’t hurt himself. charlie tends to hurt himself one way or another when he’s wasted. if he has a hangnail dennis has to put oven mitts on him so he doesn’t chew his finger off.

when dennis is drunk but charlie isn’t he’s rly good at covering for him and helping him steer away from saying things he shouldn’t.

they bash rats together sometimes when dennis needs to blow off some steam. he pretends like he’s above it or whatever but c’mon he likes to kill things......... i canNot lie lmfao sry

they write songs together when the feeling strikes them

i don’t think either of them are super cuddly but i think the best hugs in the gang would be between these two :)
