#OhiaLehua 🌺🌹 . #Native to #Hawaii, the beautiful Ohi'a Lehua is usually the first #plant to grow in areas that have been recently covered by #lava flow. The vibrant red, green, yellow, and white vegetation are clearly visible and exquisite against the black lava landscape. There's a legend on how the ohia lehua came to be- it's said that there was a handsome warrior named Ohia who Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of fire, fell in love with. When Pele found out Ohia already loved another woman named Lehua, Pele became so angry she transformed Ohia into a tree. After Pele refused to change him back, Lehua pleaded to the other Hawaiian gods to help. They agreed to transform her into the Lehua #flower that blooms on the Ohia tree so that the lovers could be together forever 💕💮 .
