The Buffalo Killers - Newly Expanded 'Ohio Grass'

Following the exclusive Record Store Day 'Herb Green' vinyl pressing of their six-song Ohio Grass EP, Buffalo Killers will be releasing it on August 20th as expanded versions on CD & Digital formats through Alive Naturalsound Records, featuring four additional bonus tracks (one new studio track along with three smoking live songs).

In addition to the newly expanded CD & Digital editions, Alive will also be re-releasing the original six-song EP on black vinyl, as well as a very limited pressing on MARBLE VINYL available exclusively through Bomp! mailorder.

Buffalo Killers - "Ohio Grass"

The night before Record Store Day 2013 was an excellent start to the weekend.  Buffalo Killers played the MOTR Pub behind my apartment.  The band sounded better than ever. This was such a smart release.  It was not only released on Record Store Day as a national exclusive but also happened to fall on 4/20 this year.  Which seems very smart for a band to release a heavy marijuana-influenced record on this exact date.  They even advertised the vinyl to be a "herb green" color (sticker seen below). I'm not proficient in the ways of the Buffalo Killers.  I listened a lot to their most recent album Dig. Sow. Love. Grow. and even purchased their album Let It Ride in their hometown of Dayton, OH.  I learned something from this record about the Buffalo Killers. One was I need to listen to more Buffalo Killers, but I say that every time I hear them.  The other thing I learned was how diverse this band can be.  On, Ohio Grass the band breaks out into some deep dark southern rock and jam out to some reggae vibes. I'm not sure what the Ohio Grass is laced with, but whatever it is keep smoking and playing Buffalo Killers!
