First trip to Akron’s Akronym Brewing in awhile and I was super pleased with all three beers I tried. The beautiful, creamy, side-pull pour of Czech 123 pilsner (pictured at top) was probably my favorite. You can't go wrong with a smooth-drinking, sessionable lager with a crisp, easy, herbal bitterness. But their smoked porter, Smoke Showing, and NEIPA, Henry, were also excellent takes on sometimes difficult to nail styles. Smoke Showing had just the right balance of earthy smoke with roasty chocolate notes. And Henry featured low bitterness and juicy, tropical flavors without being at all sweet or cloying. Cheers to the brewers over at Akronym, they’re killing it, better beers every time I visit!
