My first 2d animation project is to write about an animator: The animator I want to write about is John Lasseter. I chose John Lasseter because his name popped up on google search. John is a renowned filmmaker with popular films such as Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Brave, and Incredibles 2. He has won to academy awards for Best Animated Short Film for Tiny Toy. He was born in January 12, 1957 in Hollywood, California. He was the chief creative officer at Walt Disney Company. He was fired from Disney Studios in 1983 for pursuing computer animation! After that, he went to LucasFilm. At LucasFilm he worked on CGI animation. His computer division was later sold to Steve Jobs and became Pixar in 1986. He was involved including Toy Story, Cars, Cars 2, and Bugs Life. John went back to Walt Disney in 2006 and continued to be successful. He was involved in movies such as Zootopia, Finding Dory, and Incredibles. The films he made have grossed more than 19 billion. Although he has been very successful there has been controversy as well. According to news sources he has had a history of sexual misconducts with employees. Disney announced that he will leave the company and transition to a consulting role only. The latest news is that John is leaving Disney and joining Skydance Animation as Head of Animation. At Skydance, he is joining a team that is behind Kung Fu Panda and Shrek.
