Lately, I have been thinking about all the advertisements that I have and how it connects with the items I have at home. I am typing my blog on my Macbook Air, but why did I choose the air? Why did I choose a this instead of that? Is it our choice when we decide what we buy, or are the number of advertisements we encounter the valid reason behind it. I know I bought this laptop because it was all I saw everyone carry, people used in shows, and the name of the brand. I think it is also because of all the product placements. I remember sitting down and watching America’s Got Talent with my family every week, but also noticing the judges drinking Snapple. I never even hear about Snapple or knew what it was until I saw it in the judge’s hands. After seeing them drink it so much, the next time I went to the grocery store, I asked my mom to get me some Snapple, just because I wanted to drink some. Looking back, I do not think I wanted to, but it was in my mind, so I wanted to try it. I know I did not want to try it because I hated it so much after trying it. It is all about getting people to buy your product by influencing them and then acting like you are giving them a choice. Trust me, and if I had the opportunity not to drink Snapple, I would not have.
