Hmm, idk just how unpopular/questionable this opinion is, but I think that part of the reason why Ralph was so disgusted with Sandy is because in him he saw the "perversion" of his own suicidal ideation after Dunkirk, the twisting of something he lowkey saw as honorable into cheap blackmail.

Hmmm, you’re putting things into a new perspective here. I always thought that the main reason why Ralph disliked Sandy so much was because of the way he expressed his "homosexuality", ie reinforcing the stereotypes surrounding gay men and associating with a very select group of individuals (other gay men). Something Mary Renault was really against, which can obviously be seen in her writing and influenced Laurie and Ralph's characterization. But there were obviously more factors fueling Ralph’s hatred, so you’re probably right.

if you could invent anything what would it be? I mean, I don’t think it can be done but a teleportation device! 100% by my complete and utter disdain for New York’s public transport system.

a secret obsession: maybe this isn’t a secret anymore- plants! I’ve had a love for indoor plants for about a year now and I’ve really seen my green thumb grow!! I now have eleven plants in my bedroom alone. Maybe eight or nine at work. Six more plants elsewhere around the house. The obsession goes so far that just seeing photos of other people’s plants makes me suppppper happy!!

😂 when i was thinking of doing a suits crack video, one of the first spoofs that occurred to me was putting that parks and rec audio over a scene with rachel + mike + harvey where rachel explains that whole situation to jessica and afterwards jessica's like: "the thing about youth culture is... i don't understand it."

Lmaoo between that and having the saxophone from careless whisper playing over every time they flirt (e.g. right after ‘me, across the table from you’) like i was talking about to @specterxross we really do need a crack video 😂

Greek god/goddess you relate most to? 

When I was a kid, I was really fascinated by Athena. I loved all she stood for, I loved the mythos of her birth, I was bothered by the legends that sometimes showed her as more of an ally for men than for women- I was young then and so distraught because I didn’t understand these stories in the context of cultural prejudice, haha. So, I ended up adoring Artemis- platonic and amicable, a warrior and a force of nature. Also, surrounded by ladies all the time /waggles brows I still think those two are absolutely amazing greek figures.

you're absolutely right! and i love that, y'know? because even the most bleeding heart liberals usually want to help the world on THEIR terms. human motivation for doing something often gets so mixed up. take harvey, who would have done ANYTHING to help mike this season. was that from a place of deep love? absolutely! but he was also feeling guilty as fuck and that guilt was propelling him towards such insane actions. the guilt, however, doesn't negate the love.

in fact, i'd argue it enhances it because harvey could never feel so guilty about someone he didn’t love deeply. in the same way, mike’s ambition doesn’t negate his good heart. he wants to help people AND be fulfilled. he could’ve gone to work at a soup kitchen like gibbs said he should, but then he wouldn’t have felt good about himself. and after all, only people who feel comfortable with themselves and their lives can fully focus on helping other people, imo.

SAME like, I love breaking down his motivations, particularly because he’s arguably the most consistent character of the lot and has the least ooc moments. And he’s got these pure intentions coexisting with this mess of flaws like his addictive tendencies and resulting ‘laziness’ and it’s my fave thinggg 

Also omg with Harvey and guilt I feel that but inverted, like they want to sell it as Harvey feeling guilt being the reasons for everything he’s done this season, but guilt doesn’t work like that, suits writers?? this is love

The Vegetarian by Han Kang... Though obviously I wouldn't adapt it myself, I would pick a Korean director and writing team etc to do it! This book has so many beautiful images, the writing strikes me as being very visual if that makes sense
