honestly im so glad you said this. im outright ashamed of a lot of my rps/art/behaviour when i was in the hs fandom, when i was like, 14-16 years old. but people grow and do better, and i like to think ive changed my views for the better (i had the same fiction=/=reality mindset then, too), and have been bettering myself as a person. and you have too! and that’s really what matters. sure, it doesn’t erase fucked up stuff from the past, but it does show we’ve learned from and moved on from that mess, and can be a better influence on those now younger than us. which i think is incredibly important.
I’m glad other people were in the same boat as me, though I was 18 - 21 when the stupider shit happened and it only makes my regret worse. I was a young adult, I should have known better. Which is why it’s so important to me now to try and be a better person. I don’t want to be that stupid adult who makes kids in the fandom uncomfortable with shitty ways of thinking, or even influence them to think like that as well.
