❝ the risk i took was calculated, but man, am i bad at math. ❞
"Fuck, me too. There's a reason school has always been awful for me, you know? But anyways. You need help getting unstuck from the bushes?"
"i hate looking at him do anything."
They're both currently watching Ghiaccio from afar, who was having a fit once again. Was this his third tantrum of the day? That's what Formaggio had counted, but he wasn't sure if it was right, and at this point, he didn't care.
He took a deep inhale and exhale of his cigarette, raising an eyebrow at the display, and nodded.
"I mean yeah, same, but you can't change that guy. He's stubborn as a bull, and hits like one too. Suggestion? Just keep away, Melone's the only one he seems to be able to stand. Mystery to me as to why, though."
❝ that wasn’t meant for you. ❞ - risotto
He pauses mid bite into the dessert he had pilfered from the fridge, an innocent midnight snack, when he was found.
Shit.
Well, he was gonna blame it on Melone or Illuso. Both equally as guilty from stealing from the fridge, just as much as Formaggio. However, he couldn't do that now, there wasn't any getting away from Risotto and those damn piercing eyes of him.
Did he have a sixth sense? Why was he up, anyways?
"... No name on it?" Is a weak excuse, said after he swallowed the bite he had already taken of it, "I can uh... Replace it? Whose was it. Fuck, was it yours?"
❝ I disembowel. It’s what I do. ❞
"I mean do what you gotta do, I guess, but like... Keep that shit away from some of the guys. Pesci has a weak stomach, you know. Ghiaccio, Melone, Prosciutto, and Illuso may bitch if you get intestines on them.
Specially Prosciutto and Illuso, they're pretty vain bout that shit."
He points at the corpse they're standing over.
"You made a damn mess, by the way, and you gotta figure out how to get rid of the blood. I'll cover the disposal, but that's it."
✍ - a memory of their mother
Dario stared down at the letter in his hands, though he was no longer reading it. He had read it twice already, and it didn't bring him any feeling. What was he supposed to feel? Joy? Anger? Sadness?
All he felt was empty, and maybe a bit angry. Bitter, if nothing else, though he couldn't put a finger on why he felt this way. Maybe it was because his mother, the woman who had given birth to him, only now left him some form of communication, when he was 14 years old.
14 years is what it took for her to drop off a letter that explained why she abandoned him, and that she was sorry. That apparently, she loved him still, and always would, though she didn't know he was no longer who he was when he was a baby.
She knew nothing of him, she made no effort to ever learn about him, or say something sooner. So why should he care?
Green eyes darkened, and the paper was quickly ripped to shreds, and tossed out the window into the summer breeze.
That gave him a feeling, even if the words did not.
Relief.
His father didn't need to know, after all, and it would be better if he didn't. He had no attachment to the woman, after all, since he wasn't the man who helped make him.
A complete stranger, who became his true parent.
Those words, in his eyes, were all bullshit, lies to make a guilty person feel better.
But why was he crying?
☽
Dirt covered feet made their way quickly through the tiny home, avoiding the places where splinters or nails may jam into skin, the child associated with them practically glowing with excitement.
"Papa! Papa! Look, look!" The red head yells, much to loudly as they burst into the master bedroom (if you could call it that), the man at the desk not bothered at all by the goings on. He seemed to be used to the child's energy.
"Topolina! My little one, yes, yes, let me see. I'm sure you have a new treasure for me to look at, right?" The man says as he turns around, putting down the model pieces he'd been working on, focus entirely on his child.
Small hands thrust a necklace into his face, causing him to laugh at the pure energy that bubbled from the kid before him.
"Ah, this is the necklace I lost a month ago! My, you're a good finder of things, aren't you? We should celebrate! Something small, for something small, hm?" Rough hands ruffle wild curly red locks, causing a fit of laughter as the hands are pushed away.
"Papa, can we make chocolate milk?! Just a glass?" Puppy eyes are given, and green eyes lock with dark brown for a moment, till the man gives in.
"Of course. One glass, but we share, right?" They both nod in agreement, and the necklace is temporarily forgotten as they go to 'celebrate' the find.
❝ are you courageous or foolish? to stand before me & waste my time... ❞
"Both, maybe? I can't count how many times I've been called a reckless dumbass." His head tilts, clearly unbothered by any underlying threat that may be present.
"By all means, you can walk away if you'd like, I won't stop you, or I can leave right now I suppose. I just see a good looking, interesting guy and I get curious."
Here’s some salami and crackers, you know, to go with the cheese??? // IM SORRY
A plate of salami and crackers is on the table, perfectly set up, and mouthwatering to anyone who was starving or bored a party. But, clearly this was not a party. This snack plate was a mocking display towards the red head currently staring at it.
How rude.
Added Mocking Platter to Inventory.
Use?
Use on laughing French Man
