soo... I couldn't help but notice you were thinking about the children of Nyx 👀

this is old but i'm thinking about them again and more specifically about their power so enjoy this

momus does not often rely on this ability to do his dirty work because often just saying something is enough; but he truly can invade the inner recesses of the mind and torment a person from within. if confronting them verbally with their deepest flaws isn't enough, he can make them endure, see, and experience them viscerally. he's not a god of madness, but he's pretty damn close.

thinking about oizys snapping. she does not inflict misery the same way others might do so (nemesis, keres, etc). she is representative of the emotion, a conduit of sorts, a person who carries within her the weight of all the misery in the world. she does not like to cause pain - but if tested, she absolutely could. she was made to withstand it. imagine the destruction she might cause a person if they could feel everything she did, if only for a second. don't test her, honestly.

i think in a similar fashion, nemesis can also deeply influence the emotions of others. sometimes she enacts vengeance on her own terms - sometimes she manipulates the bloodlust, anger, and vindication in others to achieve the same ends. she can make you see red, but she uses this sparingly. nemesis is, naturally, quite balanced.

oizys, who always has streaks of black running down her face, said to be the grief and misery inside her given physical form (its makeup and she cries a lot)

oizys, the physical manifestation of the person with a raincloud over their head. never smiles, rarely speaks, and when she does its usually quite negative. will cry at the drop of a hat. (her family knows this and loves her)

oizys who doesn't sow misery the way many of her siblings, but is overcome with the misery and grief of others (there's plenty to go around, after all). her presence does cause a bit of a melancholy affect, though.

oizys who, with a bit of effort, can actually suck up the pain of others, though this does not come as naturally to her. can be surprisingly good at comforting people when given a chance

oizys, who has the largest collection of animals imaginable because they 'help her feel better'

I don't know how to talk anyone anymore and that's really if I even ever did. I just kinda spit out self-pity and insults. If you know me really then you've known this at some point, sooner or later it just goes on. Pointless moping, like it's been and been screwing me for years. So I rather someone just talk at me for awhile while I nod, because I'm listening, I just don't have anything to contribute that you'd want to hear.
