Hi! I'm planning on applying as a writer, but I see on the application that you only want up to 3k words for the portfolio. Would you rather this be a selection of bits from previous works, or 1-2 fics in their entirety?

Thank you for the ask! The portfolio is meant to be a representation of your writing ability and style, whatever that means to you. If you feel like your strengths lie in the flow of a story and would rather submit a few works in their entirety, go ahead! If you have a couple sections of longer fics that you think stand out, feel free to submit those!

The word limit is mostly so that the mod team doesn't have to go through thousands of words every application, it's not a strict guideline. Both parts of longer fics and entire smaller oneshots are welcome, in the end its up to your preferences.

Also, this isnt related to this ask specifically, but if someone hypothetically has a work that is just above the limit (like 3,029 words instead of a perfect 3k), that's fine too. The word limit is a bit flexible as long as nothing gets too insane.
