Hi! I'm planning on applying as a writer, but I see on the application that you only want up to 3k words for the portfolio. Would you rather this be a selection of bits from previous works, or 1-2 fics in their entirety?

Thank you for the ask! The portfolio is meant to be a representation of your writing ability and style, whatever that means to you. If you feel like your strengths lie in the flow of a story and would rather submit a few works in their entirety, go ahead! If you have a couple sections of longer fics that you think stand out, feel free to submit those!

The word limit is mostly so that the mod team doesn't have to go through thousands of words every application, it's not a strict guideline. Both parts of longer fics and entire smaller oneshots are welcome, in the end its up to your preferences.

Also, this isnt related to this ask specifically, but if someone hypothetically has a work that is just above the limit (like 3,029 words instead of a perfect 3k), that's fine too. The word limit is a bit flexible as long as nothing gets too insane.

What is a zine???????

A zine is a mini-magazine, so the name comes from the ending of that word (maga-zine). Usually, zines are self-published and much more community focused. For example, this zine is going to be focused almost exclusively on Owen! The goal of zines in general is to make a small and accessible creative project for members of that community to share. The Juice Zine is hoping to contain a compilation of fanart of various kinds, including but not necessarily limited to: illustration, poetry, and short stories! The goal is to show a collective fan appreciation for Owen and his career as a content creator, from streams and stories to videos and DnD campaigns, and everything in between.

Welcome to the OwengeJuice Zine!

The Juice Zine is a fanmade project based on OwengeJuiceTV and his many accomplishments throughout his streaming and YouTube career, with a focus on his creations and achievements within the MCYT and Minecraft community. The Zine hopes to encapsulate as many projects and achievements as possible, following Owen's journey through the creator space in chronological order.

The ultimate goal of this project is to create a digital zine consisting of various forms of fan artworks, such as writing and fanart, in order to celebrate the juice community and creator.

Basic information:

The Juice Zine will be available for free digital download

Moderators are expected to be 16+

Contributors must be 13+ (as per Discord TOS)

Discord will be required for participation of any kind
