so in 2x11 Playthings Dean, in his excitement to work an “old-school haunted house,” says they “might even run into Fred and Daphne while we’re here.”  pauses, goes “Daphne, mm, love her.”  Now we’re intended to read this as Dean being sleazy, and it is, but I am thinking. I am thinking about dean’s scoobynatural arc with regards fred.  I am thinking about masculinity as a performance.  I am thinking about how those are the only two of the scooby gang he brings up- not the scooby gang, not the titular character scooby-doo, he doesn’t even say daphne, alone.  fred and daphne.  the character he claims to hate before the character he (in scoobynatural) claims to want, before immediately deflecting to daphne.  I am thinking about how Dean hypes up his uncomfy behavior towards women to cover his bisexuality.  I am thinking.

and then my gODS this is the “antiquing” episode? this is the “overcompensating” episode???  Dean is bi and all the proof is in the first 10 minutes of this episode of season two.
