I just watched through all of the Steven universe episodes all in one day...

No matter how strong I may seem as a person, shit hurts. Struggling is hard, and disappointment is often more devastating than failure. And no matter how much shit we give them - and they give us - over the years, if it's one thing I've learnt, getting any of the above from a parent is one of the hardest things to deal with.

Which is why I am so fucking grateful that after all the shit I'm going through right now, my mum will not only pick me up in the freezing cold and let me cry myself out in the car, but she will also adorn my bed with a new snuggly blanket, a bouquet of flowers, some Halloween cupcakes and a £10 note to cheer me up and let me know that, no matter what, I still have some support and security to come home to.

Yes, you're a nightmare to be around sometimes, but so am I - it's where I get it from. And yes I'm excruciatingly stubborn, but I could say the same about you. And yes we are at each other's throats over 70% of the time, we'll yell, we'll cry, we'll scream, we'll break shit, we'll threaten, we'll hurt: but at the end of the day, after everything, I love you, and I really, really hope you know that.
