WWII AU or Space AU?
I had to get up and walk around for a while before I could answer this, because I just don’t know.
One the one hand, I love historical AUs, and WWII AUs in particular. I’ve seen way too many old movies, listened to way too much jazz, and read way too many history books to ever be able to resist it. Not to mention that there don’t seem to be too many of them, so when I find a good one, I’m thrilled.
On the other hand, SPACE. There’s just so much potential. Since it’s (presumably) set in the future, you can take all the liberties you want with technology, lifestyles, professions, locations--as long as it makes sense on some level, you’re good to go.
Airplanes vs. ships, sea battles vs. space battles, clothes porn vs. tech porn, the romance of the past vs. the romance of the stars...how can I pick?
