ok so I had started talking to this one guy on OkCupid back in november right, and I deleted my account because it gave me way too much anxiety at the time, and tbh was kind of triggering.
this same guy finds me on facebook through a mutual friend and tiringly talks to me for a week or so. I tell him that he seems to be more interested in me than I am in him, and that I don’t want to continue talking. (actually, I had my mutual friend write this to be a little harsher) so he sends me two messages, trying to say that he didn’t like me that much (wtf) but that he would like to be friends still, before quitting contacting me.
This same guy sees my mutual friend at a bar the other day and asks him (my friend) to put in a good word on his behalf, and that he would like to be friends, even platonically. (Which is probably a lie, do you really think about someone for months only to try to be platonic friends with them? I think not). He seems like he has perpetual “nice guy” syndrome. And his extended interest in me makes me uncomfortable.
I had good cause to delete him, right? This is all creepy behavoir?
Seasons of Dating
After the French fall, the British winter followed, and was just as disappointing.
My first British date ended up in a fight as you might have remembered and just a few days ago I had an awkward third date with another British guy, the Gamer.
It started out great with the Gamer. Our first date wasn't even a real date, but I just invited him to come to the club where me and my friends were and ended up spending the rest of the night only with him. By the end of the night we were kissing on the more or less empty dance floor and it was absolutely awesome!
The second date was great too, with dinner and drinks and we laughed a lot. Or I did at least.. maybe I mentioned too often how funny I think I am...but I AM really funny!
Oh, now I remember him saying he likes modest people...
Things are starting to make sense...
Anyway, he did end up spending the night at my place, in my chaotic, disorganized, more or less unfurnished apartment that needs more work than my thesis... I will become a grown up soon.
He spent the night, but we didn't have sex, we made out and fell asleep (or tried to...) and he had to leave very early for work the next day. I felt it was already a bit awkward the next morning, but I blamed it on the lack of sleep.
But then the third date came and from the first second on it was just awkward. Forced conversation at dinner, absolutely no touching and, of course, no kissing either.
We then sat through 3 hours of Hobbit WITHOUT touching each other...
Okay, by the time Legolas showed up, I made up my mind to save myself for an elf anyway, but still... at intermission we were both a bit like this:
We did make it through eventually, walked to the subway and I took the S-Bahn instead of the U-Bahn because I didn't want to drive on the same train as him... even though that way would have been a lot faster.. yes, that's how uncomfortable I felt..
I wrote him a text about how awkward that all was and he agreed and said that our chemistry might have died a bit.
Yes, it definitely did. I disabled my OKC account because I have lost all hope. For now.. give me a week or so and I might be back.
This week I wrote almost as many first messages on OKC as I sent out work applications. I got more answers from employers than from guys.
So..I guess I am more the career type of woman?
