Happy Birthday, Ok Taecyeon!
(I wanted to write this way earlier but unfortunately I wasn't at home)
Wow what can I say. You are now 25 years old! You debuted more than 5 years ago and in that time you have changed so many people's lives.
I became a fan of K-pop in late 2010 and the group that got me to this point was none other than 2PM. Honestly, the member that I liked at first was Nichkhun, but as I watched more variety shows and interviews, I came to love Taecyeon's dorky personality and he won me over (though I do love every member to bits hehe). He was known as the beast of 2PM, but in reality, he is the complete opposite. He is a dorky, loveable, giant teddy bear with a heart of gold. I remember once that someone asked me why I like Taecyeon so much and I just didn't know where to begin. Back when there was that controversy with Jay leaving, Taecyeon arguably had the most hate directed towards him, and why was that? I think it was because in a way, he took the position of being the spokesperson for 2PM and people maybe felt he was trying to take a leader position. Did that ever bring Taecyeon down? No, he was strong. He lived through all the hate and ended up a better person. I love that he never backed down, he is such a strong individual. Secondly, being in an idol group was probably hard for him at first, especially since he auditioned for JYP as a model haha. He didn't know how to dance or sing or do much really, but he trained really hard and he fought for his chance to debut and in the end, all his hard work paid off <3 Not only did he stay as an idol group member, he branched out into acting and even became composer TY! (I'm so proud of him for taking the initiative to learn how to make his own songs and that his songs have made it onto albums). He balanced ALL of his activities with school, and even is going to graduate school. Our okcat CEO is so smart!! Oh man, and don't even get me started on him enlisting in the military. Though it will be sad to see him go for 2 years, I have the utmost respect for his dedication to his country. He got so many surgeries done to qualify him for active duty and he even gave up his permanent residency in the U.S. to enlist, and if that's not all dedication to you, I don't know what is. When Taecyeon does something, anything, he is super passionate and gives it his all no matter what. That is what I love about him.
This ended up being way longer than I expected and I could probably have written more haha. Happy birthday once again, Taecyeon! I hope that in the upcoming years with all your future endeavours, you continue to inspire more and more people just like how you inspire me~ <3
