Woche für Woche. Nix. Statistik 2019: 59/365 Statistik 2020: 60/366 https://www.instagram.com/p/CUHCjW-Ntha/?utm_medium=tumblr

The Pace Report: "A Twist of Bria" The Bria Skonberg Interview
Welcome to another edition of The Pace Report featuring trumpeter and vocalist Bria Skonberg. The recent Juno Award-Winning jazz vocalist just released her second Okeh Records release "With A Twist" with rave and stellar reviews. The new record was produced by Matt Pierson and features Sullivan Fortner on piano, Scott Colley on bass and Matt Wilson on drums. Along with Matt on deck as producer, he brought in five-time Grammy-Award winning arranger Gil Goldstein who arranged six of the songs and plays keys on them.
Bria hails from Chilliwak, British Columbia and has been immersed in jazz ever since she was in middle school. Her brother exposed her to jazz and Dixieland and studied Jazz Trumpet Performance at Capilano University.
In 2010 Bria moved to New York City where she cut her teeth in the jazz scene playing in many big band and small groups. She's also the founder of the New York Jazz Camp which features sessions for both kids and adults.
I sat down with Bria recently to talk about her latest CD "With A Twist," about her musical influences both on trumpet and vocals, and her views on what she wants to communicate musically to her fans.
