i feel like i maybe misspoke on the anger bit lmao i mean! seasons 8 and 9 rate very highly w/ me and the friend and i that watched but. i do agree with a lot of the like "ok but what if you did this and just- guys- please" and thats how im accidentally rewriting the whole show as my own personal pet project wHOOPS. but please show the docs!! and uh how does. one. hypothetically. get into a ninjago discord. asking for a friend totally yeah ahahaha.

also, I’m not actually in any ninjago discords? I’m in a few art ones, and some fandom ones, and a couple dnd ones, but none for ninjago, tho in the discord groups I am in we do talk about legos sometimes. I know there are some folks around here who have them and you can just hop right in and say hi, but I haven’t done that yet because tbh I’m toooooo nervous to poke my head in, haha <:0 sorry i couldnt help!

I am going to ship her with Genevieve. She is a lady-in-waiting from the kingdom of Taldore that sets out on a massive seafaring journey to rescue her brother from the Stormwilds and discovers she can actually control the sea? She eventually reforges the crown of the sea and becomes a Queen and she’s overall a beautiful badass and I love her dearly!

But I can see Hyejin and her being a fierce battle couple together! Viv is reckless and will jump head-first into things without looking out for rocks on the bottom. She’s that girl always seeking adventure, always looking out of the window to the sea and hoping for more. She leaps at the chance to go save her brother partially because it was an excuse for her to break conformity and social standards; Marin and her have a long talk later on about the guilt she gets surrounding that once Marcus is safely back with them. 

Hyejin would definitely need to be there to hold her arm as she’s jumping into the open flames of war and tell her to think things through and ground her to the moment. Viv needs someone that’s going to be her voice of reason; she gets by on luck and cleverness alone, and she really needs a support system when she overreaches and gets herself in trouble.

Also she’s a lady-in-waiting at the start of her canon so she speaks very formally and is very much a subtle sass master. She has perfected the art of insulting people without breaking any social law. So it would be a sass couple too and I’m down for it.

in a word, wren is overwhelming. he is CONSTANTLY challenging people on why they’re not doing more to act out, be better, do more. he’s not up in their face about it, but he’s very much hurricane force that will point-blank ask why. why aren’t you fighting for your beliefs, why are you so afraid to do what you want, why are you holding your tongue? 

there’s a conversation later on that he has with marek where marek is looking for forgiveness and wren tells him that “the only person that can forgive you is yourself.” 

so to take chris, who is far more gentle and so much warmer in the way that sunlight and growing things are warm, and put him next to wren who is a blazing wildfire is like putting a pot of flowers next to a cactus. I think once they acclimate with each other there would be some level of familiarity, but I wonder if chris would ever be comfortable around wren who is so full of sharp angles and dangerous ideas and a presence that can easily overwhelm. 

when i think about them i do really think about how chris’s cornerstone has always been growth and gardening as a background to who he is as a character, this sort of nurturing nature that helps things to grow and evolve. and i think about how wren is entirely the opposite - his belief system and character mirror a connection to this concept of fire ecology - how things need to be torn down, burned, destroyed, in order for something new to grow. 

and if you look at it as a matter of elements interacting, how well do fire and plants really get along?
