Okikagu week 2017 Day 2 - Cohabitation. Sorry for late post from Michirinne because she has been busy in real life 😅 so the make quick sketch mini doujin Okikagu!
Happy reading.
Read from left to right.
Okikagu week day 6. Kiss. Why did Sougo call her, of all people, to help him fight these enemies? Why did she have to fight on her lazy Sunday, just to help the damn sadist? She should’ve said no. She should’ve told him to go fuck himself and leave her alone. But she didn’t and now here she was, punching bad guys in the stomach and dirtying her hands. She could be sleeping right now, or even be spending quality time with Sadaharu. - Sougo had struggled against them for hours and it was too much for him. Since his pride was too big to call Hijikata or Kondo, his next choice was Gintoki. But the fucker answered the phone and immediately said no, without even hearing what he had to say. He could’ve called Shinpachi, but he honestly didn’t trust in his strength. So his last choice was, of course, Kagura. He didn’t necessarily like her, but her help would be welcomed right now. So here she was, looking as bored as ever. “Sougo this better be important!” Upon seeing the girl he smirked. “Look who finally decided to show up. I called you 45 minutes ago!” He cut down another enemy in front of him. “Shit happens.” He was about to scream at her to watch her mouth, but a blow in his guts stopped him. His tumbled backwards, trying to catch his breathe. But before he could do that, his foot slid on the tip of the ground and he fell into the river. He couldn’t breathe and his lungs felt like they were on fire. Kagura, slightly panicked, rushed into the river to pull Sougo out. The enemies long forgotten, she swam to the sandy haired man’s unconscious body and dragged him out to the shore. She slapped his face with full force. He didn’t react. “Sougo you absolute imbecile, you better wake up.” She stick her ear to his chest to hear his heart, but she couldn’t. “For fucks sake, I’m not about to do this.” She weighted her options. She had to either wait for help or give him mouth to mouth CPR. “I am NOT putting my lips on yours just to save your life!” She pictured the face of everyone when they would learn she let him die. Actually, she didn’t want him to die. “You’re not dying on me.” Her mouth met his in a poor attempt to help him breathe. After a few tries and a red blush spread across her cheeks, he finally decided to come back to her. He coughed and spit water. “Damn Kagura, you’re a bad kisser,” Kagura felt her whole body catch fire with anger. “I saved your life!” “You didn’t actually. I was never dying,” She gasped. “W-what? But your heart beat-” “You’re just stupid, you weren’t even on the right side.” Kagura felt impossibly embarrassed and she tried her best to hide it. “Next time I’ll leave you there,” “Please do.” She stood up and stomped her foot on the ground. “Kagura,” She turned around. “Let’s try this again some time.” He winked and even more embarrassed, Kagura stormed out of the battlefield. Stupid sadist, giving her expectations.
At fourteen years old Kagura wasn’t much of a hormonal beast, but hearing her friends talking about ‘sex’ rendered her curious. Ayu-chan always described ‘sex’ as a very pleasurable, tiring and addicting act.
Ayumi Sarugawa was a female friend of Kagura. Unlike the chinese-like girl, she was blessed with a mature body despite being only one year older and naturally, boys came to her like bees with honey. From Kagura’s entourage, Ayumi was the most experienced when it came to men.
Recently Ayu-chan had been saying she and her new boyfriend had a very nice body compatibility, something that made ‘sex’ better or worse, at least that was what she said.
If it was about body compatibility, the closest Kagura had was with a black-wearing boy. Not that they had anything coming close to a couple. Simply speaking it was a different kind of compatibility that resided in striking and dodging continuously until exhaustion, yet the sparring was always satisfying for both party. For Kagura, because she could release all the extra-energy she had as a Yato, for Okita because he could relieve himself from his job and prevent his body from getting dull.
And if it was about bodys, then surely both of them matched each other. Kagura had no apparent muscles, a flat stomach at most, yet she sustained a supernatural strength that far surpassed the humans’. Okita was toned like a samurai though less than Gintoki, but he could take her on anytime and with skills and speed, he made a very honorable rival to Kagura.
So, without doubt, they did have body compatibility in their own way. But when idly thinking about it, munching slowly on a sukonbu, Kagura realized she had never thought of Okita as something more than a rival she loved to hate. Ayumi and lot of her friends always squealed at the mention of his name, apparently was the man attractive, mysterious, and hot.
But really, all Kagura could see was a barking Chihuahua.
Well. To be fair, he wasn’t bad on the eyes either — call her a liar if she said the opposite. A round but attractive face, sharp eyes of red tint and silky flaxen hair with long legs of a mannequin; Okita Sougo was rather a hunk than a bump. It just that she never saw him as a man. Sure, she knew he had something she didn’t in-between his legs but that was there was to it.
Kagura rolled on the wooden bench, dreamily staring at the sky.
She had never been good at romance and stuff like that, but what was sex? Was it really as good as Ayumi-chan said?
Kagura was decided. In order to understand what ‘sex’ is she needed to gather more data, and who better to infiltrate than her pinpointed rival Okita?
It was a mission. An infiltration in enemy’s zone, well-guarded and dangerous, but all the more fun to challenge its security.
She’ll just need to learn some tricks from Catherine, after all the woman had been a thief most of her life.
°°°°°°°°°°°°
Sasasasasa…. The sound of the wind blasting upon being cut by a fast Yato.
Bon! Strong legs that successfully ended on the upper-side of the fence protecting the Shinsengumi headquarters. For policemen Kagura thought the security was lacking; only a few recruits keeping their eyes on the HQ and she betted they were newbies that couldn’t be assigned to a division yet.
It was a warm afternoon, the sun rested high in the sky and a pleasant wind flew, a perfect time to nap when one was called Okita Sougo. Kagura chuckled at the picture of him covered of a weird eye mask while sleeping on their usual bench all while his division patrolled in his stead.
Idiot. He left his bedroom unguarded of Kagura Lupin III! Big mistake, she grinned and slipped in the yard just before Okita’s room. It was her first time coming in but the strong smell of Tabasco and occult emanated from it; at least to her skilled nose.
It reeked of his smell, but Kagura found the room almost too normal to be her rival’s. She slid the door just to find a clean, simple bedroom with the futon rolled in a corner, a low table and few amenities. No whip, no vodoo or dark magic objects in sight.
“Wow. Who would have known Sadist was like Shinpachi?” Kagura deadpanned alone and stepped in, where would the Sadist hide his secret stash of porn? Gin-chan had some too, badly hidden in his futon but she never bothered reading them when the man was an old MADAO, probably virgin and in all nothing she’d like to learn from. She bet his porn contained lot of old grandma like the white-haired old man he was and seeing these grandmas weren’t in her interest either.
If it was Shinpachi, he would hide in a classic spot: somewhere in corner of a closet.
Kagura did just as so, opening the closet that had mostly clothes and weapon-related items as well as files, her hands rummaged in a dark spot and grabbed what looked like books.
Right here. Boys’ legendary secret stash of porn! The Bible to ‘sex’!
Okita had bothered to put few volumes of JUMPs on them but nothing could escape her great sight.
Kagura mentally patted herself and opened the first book she found, the title was too long for her to read — she was very slow — but it had ‘SM’ on its cover.
“!!”
The book started quickly, a we-endowed female entered an odd building resembling a castle. There were dungeons, but Kagura quickly understood that their aims deviated from real ones as there were a lot of naked people.
“Sadist likes this kind of stuff? He really is a sadist.” Her face unwavering by the obscenities continued through the pages and books.
Whatever Ayumi-chan had said, Kagura decided to not listen anymore. ‘Sex’ was nothing but humans rutting together (sometimes with more than one partner), lot of noises and yells, body fluids… In all the act was pretty disgusting and the girls looked crazier than happy.
Disappointment.
Kagura sighed and put back the books, her mind bothered by something she couldn’t understand, something making her anger flaring up.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°
Were boobs so nice? She knew Gin-chan and Shinpachi loved them, but to Kagura they were nothing more than two lumps of fat. What made them so attractive was beyond her, but somehow it seemed Sadist liked them big and it created an odd feeling of discomfort in her.
She felt like Otae, observing a rather poor chest. Like a kid’s.
Maybe she should start drinking soja milk too?
Why would that matter anyway, it wasn’t like she wanted to impress the Sadist. She just needed his stash for… Next sparring, ah yes, sparring. They weren’t like Ayumi-chan and her boyfriend nor did she want to have anything close to rutting with him — ew to the sadist cooties.
But really. She wasn’t jealous.
Does size really matter? Kagura sat down and hid her face in her knees, surges of anger and disappointment invading her. It wasn’t her fault if at fourteen, she didn’t have a body like Ayumi-chan’s, or these girls in the books.
If she had a big chest, would Okita treat her better? Would he look at her differently, like how the men in the books looked at the heroine?
Size did matter after all.
She’ll Shinpachi tomorrow for soja milk, she’ll let him see, this sadist, if she couldn’t grow those lumps of fat.
Kagura tried her best to block out the wails of the child next door, suffocating herself with her pillow in the process. She shut her eyes tightly, trying to find some peace of mind so that she could go back to sleep again but the cries only got louder and louder to the point where she thought that the kid was sitting next to her. She cursed under her breath and threw her pillow towards the wall to convey a message to her neighbors. The noise died down for a little while only to begin again, making Kagura scream inwardly.
Deciding that laying in her bed any longer would make her go insane, she pulled the covers off of herself and jumped out of bed. She hadn’t gotten much sleep last night as she was busy packing her stuff to move into her new apartment and the fact that her air conditioning had broken down didn’t help much either.
The vermillion haired girl dragged her feet towards the bathroom to wash her face and take a bath. Afterwards, she got ready and made breakfast. She had already taken care of all the paper work the day before and was more than ready to move into her new flat. While chewing on her French toast, she decided to call her moving guy to help her move her remaining stuff into the new building. She finished up her food and went to grab her cell phone.
^^^
Standing infront of her new residence, Kagura separated her boxes into three piles and began to carry them, one by one, up the stairs; everything had been going pretty smoothly until she saw her arch-nemesis waiting infront of her door with a pair of keys in his hand.
Okita Sougo, or devil’s spawn as she liked to call him, was her classmate back in high-school and there was not a single day in her life that she didn’t feel the urge to kill him. From his shit-eating grin to his sadistic remarks, she absolutely despised his existence.
“Oi, what the fuck are you doing here?” Kagrua spit on her left and looked at him with an extremely gangster- like expression.
Okita turned his attention from the door towards her and blinked a few times as if trying to understand why she was there.
“Fancy seeing you here, china~ Are you following me around everywhere now?” he dead-paned. The officer looked towards the boxes in her hand and then back at her.
“Me? Following you? Aren’t you full of yourself Chihuahua!” Kagura placed her boxes on the floor to dig into her purse and take out her keys. She held them infront of him, “you’re standing infront of my apartment.”
Okita eyed the number engraved on her keys and looked down towards his own. He scratched the back of his head trying to comprehend why their keys belonged to the same apartment. The way he was acting also drew Kagura’s attention and she began to notice the same thing as him.
“Oi, Sadist. Why do you have the keys to my apartment?”
“It’s my apartment.”
“No, it’s my-”
“Oh! Kagura-san, Okita-san, thank goodness you’re both here…” Their landlady appeared from the corner and made her way towards them. She had a nervous look on her face and the tone of her voice made them both curious as to what she had to say.
“I think there has been a mistake…” She said and they both let out a sigh of relief before turning towards each-other.
“See! I told you it’s my apartment.” They said simultaneously and turned towards the middle-aged lady infront of them, “tell him/her that he’s/she’s wrong.” They pointed accusatively at each other and scowled.
The landlady threw them a surprised look, as if amazed by their coordination, “Actually… you’re both right…” The landlady looked at their confused faces, “Due to a mistake on our part, you’ve both been given the same apartment.” She elaborated.
“Give me another apartment then, I’d rather die that live with this rat.” Kagura spoke up. She threw a dirty look at Sougo who flipped her off and returned her remarks with colorful words of his own.
“That’s the problem… we don’t have any other apartments left.” The woman rubbed her neck, hesitant to look at the pair in their eyes. For a moment there was silence, until Kagura broke it by screaming obnoxiously loud.
“No fucking way!”Kagura dropped to her knees in a dramatic way and held her head in her hands. She had been a fool to think that her day would go well after her initial stroke of bad luck of running into him. Her mind wandered over the possibility of living on the streets since she would never agree to living with him but then again she could move back in with Gintoki and Tsukuyo until she found another apartment.
Okita just rolled his eyes at her antics and turned his attention towards the older woman.
“We’ll live together if you reduce our rent to one-third of the original.” Her train of thoughts was interrupted by his words and she looked up at the police officer standing above her. It was obvious that he had spun up another devious plan in his mind.
“Who said I would live with- ” she was shut up by him as he placed his foot on her on her toes making her wince in pain.
“One third is a bit too much….” The landlady tried to negotiate.
“Whose fault is it for messing up in the first place?” Okita said in his manipulative voice and stared right on at her making her look down and established his authority over her. His malicious vibes crept out in every direction and Kagura swore she could purple around him.
The lady stayed quiet for some time as if playing with the idea in her mind and then finally spoke.
“…Alright, I’ll go make the adjustments.” She turned around to leave with staggering steps, leaving the Okita and Kagura alone.
“What the fuck did you do that for sadist?” Kagura freed her toes from under his foot and held them in her hands.
“Shutting you up.” Okita placed his keys inside the lock, turning it open and made his way inside.
“I didn’t agree to live with you, ass-hole!” She shouted from outside only to earn a “whatever” from him and scowled. She went over her options once again, trying to find a better alternative to the situation but keeping in mind the current condition of her back account and rent of the apartment, her mind only arrived at one conclusion.
“Are you coming in or should I shut the door?” Okita spoke up from behind her making her turn around.
Kagura groaned inwardly as her frustration reached an all time high, “Just so you know, I still hate you with every fiber of my being.” Kagura snarled at him, picking up her boxes from the ground.
“The feeling is mutual China, but atleast you’ll suffice for a maid.” He smirked earning a kick in the shins from her.

[Okikagu Day 1: Break up] Excerpt from a WIP - “Turning Out”
Title: Turning Out [excerpt from WIP]
Word Count: 1,950 words
Summary [for the excerpt]: After coming back from business abroad, Kagura settles back home and laments. (kinda) Okikagu, Modern AU.
a/n: Turning Out by AJR is such a good song though. Tbh **not much okikagu** interaction (lol ironic for okikagu week) but if ya like sprinkles of angst and Kagura as a dynamic person with other ppl she has friendly relationships with that’s cool; you might be down for this.
A lot of the time, Kagura wished she still had her old apartment. Having sold it when she moved in with the Sadist, after their implicit breakup, her only option was to move back in with two of the world’s most annoying people: a bald father and troublesome brother. Kamui dropped by every so often, choosing to crash at Abuto’s place more than their family home, thus leaving her alone to deal with Baldy’s corporate troubles and smothering.
Smothering included spoiling her to her heart’s content, one thing she definitely didn’t mind. What she did mind was his constant one-uppings with Gin-chan.
Kagura cringed while slamming the car door shut, recalling the one-sided fist fight they got into when Gin-chan dropped her off late. All of that could’ve been avoided if she bought that apartment Kyubei offered to her the other day, her hesitation beyond her even…
The keys to the family house in hand, Kagura walked up the driveway, squinting when she noticed the door left open ajar. Baldy’s car wasn’t in sight, neither was Kamui’s clear signs of forced entry present. With a fast-beating heart, Kagura approached the house, pushed the door, and hoped for the best. In the case hoping was for idealists, she rehearsed some learned martial arts moves in her head.
A hockey masked fellow armed with a pipe lept from the hallway. “Yo!”
“GAH–” Kagura dropped the keys with a cacophonic jingle, arms readied into a stance. She squinted at the intruder, her tense expression collapsing into an unamused, tight-lipped one. Scooping the keys off of the floor, she eyed her brother. His similar red hair and an outlandish cowlick the culprit behind her conclusion.
“That wasn’t funny, tightwad.”
“Had you going there, didn’t I, little sister?” Kamui chirped from behind his mask, his hand moving to discard it behind him. He further explained the intact door and gates, “Y’see, Abuto found my house key in the garbage the other day and told me to make use of it. I guess he was also referring to this family.”
“Don’t get so overconfident, the last time you came here, you cozied up to my best friend.”
His insincere chuckle grated against her ears. Kamui and his little propriety were nothing new to their household, but with everything going on, she didn’t need his ear pressed against her door as she vented to Soyo. Today, in particular, had been a long day, and while the entire month alone was unbearable, Kagura put off calling her best friend. She could damn well handle Okita herself without bothering Soyo, but the tension between them only gave greater weight to her chest.
Ugh. She twirled a twisty finger around her hair, noting that a long bath before bed was in order.
Not a second later did she force herself back into the present. Kagura shouldered past Kamui roughly, his taunting falling on deaf ears. She deposited the keys onto the counter with a jangle and pointedly gestured to the long metal pipe in her brother’s hand.
“Where the hell did you get that, anyway?”
“The mall.”
No doubt about it. Kamui beamed blithely and without meaning. It certainly was not the mall. While she was tired of his avoiding behavior–scratch that, anything to do with it—she waved his shenanigans off like a bad smell.
“Okay, and why’re you here? Are you actually going to live here now?” The last time he swung by their residence last month, he hung around for a week, prying into her life. The last thing she wanted was giving her brother of all people updates and confidant-level information. Not that it mattered; the only person he would really tell besides her group of close friends and family (for shits and giggles of course) would be his roommate and second-dad-of-sorts, Abuto.
Kamui shrugged, the metal pipe clanging as he tossed it onto the hardwood. “Call it a few overnight stays. Apparently, I need to get my act together,” he cracked open an eye from the sofa. “I’d say you’re doing the same thing as I.”
She chucked an expired tub of yogurt at his smug face, one that had a quick reaction time and little facial change from the benign curve of his mouth and his concealed eyes.
“I don’t know why I put up with you, idiot brother.” Yes, she really fucking didn’t know. It’s not like he knew that she ran into the very guy she ‘needed to get her act together’ from after a year’s worth of separation.
Still, that didn’t stop her from giving the back of Kamui’s head the meanest glare.
The television flickered to life, the remote waving from Kamui’s clutches as if he wasn’t getting the stare down of his life. “Likewise, little sister.”
Whenever Kamui stayed over, the main issue was privacy, bathroom rights, and chores. Kagura stole the bathroom to bathe first, pressuring Kamui to back down unless he’d want to wake up drowning. On any normal occasion, Kamui would have taken the bathroom after Kagura ran out of firepower, but under today’s pressure and the prodigal son’s return, Kagura fought back by rushing into the bathroom with a towel and change of clothes and locking the door.
The bathroom was the only sanctuary of privacy, and while Kagura knew Kamui could’ve punched through the door at any time, the giant idiot still had a brain despite his past life in petty, teenage gang violence. If his head magically regressed to his more reckless days, Kagura wouldn’t know what to do.
As the bath started to run, Kagura watched the steam curl around the ceiling and whisk itself away through a nearly missable crack.
It filled and Kagura slipped into the warm water.
Alone with her thoughts, how glamorous. She started to think about him all over again, goddamn the peaceful water, goddamn running into him at her old job.
“China?”
She was panting from diving into the elevator at the last second, adjusting her skirt and hair when it registered just who she was stuck in an elevator with for another 12 floors.
Another ding. Make that 11.
Kagura forced her to chin up to meet the churning confusion going on in his eyes. A warmth that no longer belonged to her.
Then just like that, whatever tidal emotions that washed over his features stiffened into his professional appearance. The cool but effective guy. The guy who got dreadfully straight to the point.
“You came back a few years earlier than I thought.”
“Yeah. It was unexpected…”
“I can imagine,” his mouth quirked down for a breath then realigned itself back into its straight, narrow place.
And after that, there was nothing. Just red, sharp numbers on a screen counting up and greying employees filling the space between them.
Kagura sighed. The water rippled as she sunk deeper into its heavy contents. That elevator ride sucked.
Once Kagura emerged from the bathroom, dressed in her sweatshirt and shorts for pajamas, she needed a breath of fresh air. Passing Kamui in the kitchen, yanking the house phone from the receiver, and stood by the small garden her Papi barely managed in her absence. Internally, she shook her head—even when she didn’t live here anymore, at least she kept the flowers and vegetation alive and not halfway to death’s door.
She hovered her fingers over the phone’s number pad, inhaling a breath for confidence and warding away her earlier lamentation.
It had been some time since they last spoke over the phone, but the most Kagura could do was have faith.
Soyo picked up on the third ring. “Kagura-chan! It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?”
Her voice brightened even the darkest of days. From high school to now, Soyo was a light to be graced with, even if it was just over the phone. Those business books advised rightly when they say a person can hear a smile in a voice.
“Sorry, Soyo-chan. I’m sure you’re tired from a long day.”
“Not at all, don’t worry! You must be the tired one out of the two of us for sure.”
Once Soyo started her tirade on uncooperative citizens and coworkers who refused to take her project proposals seriously, Kagura headed back into the house, climbing the stairs back up into her room. After various rants about work and home life were exchanged, Kagura heard the pause on Soyo’s end at the mention of recent news at her old job.
“By the way, Kagura-chan,” Soyo broached whatever she planned to say slowly, “but are you avoiding talking about Okita-san on purpose? I heard that you saw him today amongst other things.”
Ack. Caught.
“Soyo, I really don’t want to know anything you heard about him. It…isn't my business.” Kagura had heard it all anyway from nosy coworkers. Bit of a womanizer, bit of a drinker, bit of a usual hardass. Whatever, she didn’t care, she told herself as the phone seemed like nothing in her monstrous grip.
“I understand.” She paused again. “I think he loves you still, though—”
Kagura hissed low into the phone. “Soyo! That is the opposite of what I’m saying!”
Shit, Kagura could already feel the heat crawling up her cheeks. What was she, a teenager? And how could Soyo say that?
“—And that you love him.”
“Of course,” Kagura heard the surprise in Soyo’s exclamation at her instant response. Sighing into the mic, Kagura started climbing into her bed. No use hiding the obvious anyway. “I left the country for a year but it doesn’t make it hurt less.”
It felt a little bit better, unloading her baggage out in the open. Even if it was just over the phone, having Soyo, the best party in between the two of them, listen to her was all she needed to get rid of the sinking feeling in her chest. Sometimes she blamed their breakup on herself, for forgetting to confide in him about her career plans helping Papi’s start-up reach greater heights. For not handling his feelings on it well, for not understanding his side. For saying the wrong things even when he said just as wrong accusations.
“And what sucks is that he’s probably moved on and that hurts more than anything but if he’s doing better now…fine. I just can’t stand being alone with him.” Though there was once a time you used to love being alone with him.
Everything blurred. Every sob choked back from constant repression came up all at once. A blurry stupid mess she couldn’t shake off just by blinking. Kagura wiped her eyes, Soyo patiently listening.
“I’m so sorry I brought it up. Do you want to talk about it still? Should I come over with sukonbu?”
Kagura giggled at that. Kindness never aged in its remedies for the heart. “No, but thanks, Soyo. You’re the best. It must be lame listening to the same sob story over and over.”
“Aah, what a rotten boy that man is,” a blasé male voice interjected from the other line.
“Get off the phone, Kamui, or I swear I’ll shave your hair off at night.”
Kagura swore she heard him munch on a snack judging from the crunch on the other end as he opted for neither reply or hang up. She sniffled up her part of her previous heartache and directed her energy into murderous plotting. If this punk doesn’t mind his own business in five seconds…
Soyo rescued them both from a violent sibling tussle. “Alright. Kamui-san, I won’t cook you lunch for a month if you keep this up.”
Immediately, his line clicked and all Kagura could do was stare at the phone.
