I was giggling the whole time dudeee omgggg the drabble was perfect for my toxic yuri (well almost perfect becuz Mura is mute😞 but it’s still fire)

do you guys know i love toxic yuri? especially one where one is actively chasing the other down? Do you know I like law enforcer x criminal? that’s why I have like three or maybe four yuri ships of my ocs with this trope?

As suggested by the Greater Circle and voted on by the Greater/Lesser Circle tiers, it's the January Question & Answer session, coming in at 4136 words. And today's star of the session (to torture) is none other than the High King himself, with a rather obvious guest star...

Arthur: I see. Thus, Adrian shall be spared today. So be it.

Sitting at the center of the stage is Merlin, as ever, with Lorelei to their left and Arthur to their right. Next to Arthur, seated primly in their seat with a lolling pink tongue hanging out, is a white fluffy cloud of a dog with a placard that says "I Have Failed" around its neck. Both Arthur and Cassandra seated to the pup's right are side-eyeing it, while Gwen shuffles in the background.

Merlin: My, my... you are looking particularly adorably fluffy today, Adrian, I must say.

Barghest: Rrff.

Gwen: I can't believe that Adrian and his cute pet managed to beat me to the seat! I-I know I couldn't beat Merlin here, but I got up at dawn for this...! *gently picks up the puppy which squirms around in her arms, trying to lick her face* Here, I think this is meant for you. *somewhat reluctantly hands over the dog to Arthur*

Broderick: *off-stage* And I can't believe that fucker somehow escaped the building again!

Arthur: *dog now in his arms, little paws braced against his chest plate as it attempts to bathe his exposed neck and face in kisses* I have failed?

Gwen: *smooths out her skirt and delicately sits on the now vacated, if somewhat still fur-bedecked seat* Oh, no, no... I don't think the message is meant for you!

Cassandra: *simply staring at the dog trying to nuzzle against Arthur's armor as she. ever. so. slowly. writes*

Merlin: Alas, poor Adrian. He should have tried stabbing a few more people in the comments of the suggestion poll. At least you didn't get the full complement of questions, Arthur, hmm?

Lorelei: Wait... we can do that?

Cassandra: *chuckles* Oh no, you have given Lorelei ideas now.

And we're back to attempting to traumatize Arthur, it seems.

Quarry (Interlude Cassandra)

The stars faintly twinkled above, a sea of pinprick silver in the dusky night sky, as silence finally fell across the campsite. All the while, she continued to bide her time.

Everyone had finally, finally, finally, after a boiling eternity of waiting, for Percy to finish brushing out the coat of the shaggy mountain pony who'd wandered into their encampment, for Broderick to check beneath the undercarriage of the car and through their supplies as if he was afraid there might be something lurking there, for Gwen to stop streaming whatever it was to whoever it was with neon lights flickering across her face as heavens turned from bruised purple to inky black.

Finally, everyone else had taken to their beds. All save her, left to guard duty this night, as she fidgeted slightly upon a collapsible stool. It should be all right. Even if worry lightly chivied at her slender shoulders. The wards would keep everyone safe enough even without her extra pair of eyes.

She intended to return by the dawn of the next day, in the end.

Because after all this time...

She. Was. So. Close.

And the winning drabble for December is "Spicy Cassandra x Serial Killer Fe!MC toxic yuri drabble (Handcuffs? Knife play? 🥴)" at 2123 words.

AU here, since things will be quite different once the Serial Killer MC's subplot finally kicks in earnest, but... you get the general idea of the dynamic.

NSFW spicy warning. Maybe a bit dubcon since the suggestion was "toxic yuri" (and the MC has her priorities, bloodlust over lust at the moment!). But no gore or blood in the knifeplay for the squeamish, however.

Merlin and Arthur sit at center stage with Vivian's fountain burbling in the background. The rest of the stage remains empty save for a scattering of unoccupied seats and Percy's rocking horse with a bird feeder on its head.

Merlin: Tis very Camelot on the stage once more, and... oh, here comes Cassandra and Gwen.

Gwen: *raises an arm in triumph as she takes the chair next to Arthur* And Adrian's seat is once more mine! S-since he isn't here again at all.

Cassandra: Yes... *takes the seat next to Gwen and begins flipping through her notes* ...it appears he ran off with Broderick this month, since the latter didn't have any questions aimed at his socks.

Cassandra: *flips faster through her notes*

Cassandra: ...didn't have any questions regarding his socks that won the vote this time.

Arthur: *shifts slightly at the edge of his seat* I feel as if I ought to be in the backwings this time. There is naught but Lorelei and Percy there at the moment...

Percy: *off-stage* Uwu.

Lorelei: . . .

Cassandra: You mean because of that other question that won. Well, when the time comes, I can head back there as well...not as if I have any questions directed to me this time.

Gwen: A-and that's a very good reason for me to be on stage this time instead!

Vivian: When fate allows to be free, what fools these mortals be! Although this fabricated stage is, mayhap, the safest spot to slake one's thirst for what one ought to know not.

Merlin: Ah, you all worry too much, especially you, Arthur. Such shenanigans as this are indeed 'free'. Nothing here will 'stick', per se, no matter how something may or may not run amok.

Cassandra: Rather than us worrying too much, I'd say you worry too little, Merlin.

Merlin: If I worried any more than I already do, all my glorious hair would turn gray!

Everyone on Stage: *staring at Merlin's colorless hair*

Merlin: *tosses their head, sending waves of rippling silver through their tresses* Tis a most bewitching shade of silver here, not merely gray.

I like how everyone else’s reason for suspecting Cassandra is based off some like actual logistical reasons and mine is cus in the game there was this one thing one of the characters said (i don’t remember who) about “beware the false prophet” or something along those line honestly I’m not even sure if a character says it or the game (my memory is horrendous) and while yes technically speaking that could be referring to Merlin that’s too obvious so obvi it has to be referring to Cassandra’s namesake 🙂‍↕️

You mean The False Prophet from Revelation that gets mentioned in the Biblical Apocalypse notes that Adrian can send you?

Magic 8-Ball:

Merlin once more sits at center stage, the Magic 8-Ball rattling around in their hand, with Arthur and Gwen seated to their immediate right and a scribbling Cassandra seated to their left. Percy's empty rocking horse is currently wearing a 'Spicy Sexy Mama' shirt.

Merlin: *shaking the grand, glorious Magic 8-Ball* Ha! Failed to beat me to the seat of honor this time, did you?

Arthur: That contraption certainly appears to hold the current favor of the audience. Dare I ask precisely how long you have been camping here to attain that seat, Merlin?

Merlin: Pish posh, tis a current fad... leastwise before Pestilence sent all scuttling away into their isolation. Modern mortal society lines up for days in advance to secure the best seats! The best tickets! The primest of random mechanical doodads, each exactly the same as the next!

Arthur: While I was always a proponent for equality amongst the Round Table, this speaks well for the existence of assigned seats.

Gwen: *sitting to Arthur's right* Heh heh... Meanwhile, Adrian's still on his bender around the world, leaving his seat open for the taking!

Broderick: *off-stage* That fuckass took Lorelei this time!

Cassandra: *looking up from her notes It was supposed to be me this time, but I was called back by a certain question. flips through her notepad's pages* At least it wasn't about my socks.

Broderick: *off-stage, muttering imprecations*

Percy: *off-stage* Sus.

And it's time for the first question of this session... which is about Cassandra's socks!

Arthur: Modern man seems to have a strange fixation on hosen and stockings.

Magic 8-Ball:

Gwen: No feet fetish back then, huh?

Merlin: Oh no, quite the opposite. Without all the conveniences and distractions so prevalent in current times, people had naught to consume their attention but—

Cassandra: *smiles, puts down her notebook, and begins reaching for her gun*
