Here it is! I tried to make it short and readable the best I can. I hope you like it.
Funny and Wholesome Scenario:
GN!Y/N is another new kid in town after Cove moved in Sunset Bird, their home is only down the street and close by where the main character live. A social butterfly with a warm and bright personality that capture everyone's hearts including the Mc (Jamie) and Cove.
As a child, GN!Y/N likes to follow Jamie, Cove and Elizabeth around and likes to knock furiously on their doors or repeatedly ring the doorbell. They get scolded a lot because of this but they just brush it off and move on since they have other priority which is to play! Jamie and Elizabeth welcome Y/N with open arms while Cove on the other hand is overwhelmed and annoy by them because of their persistent and bright personality.
As they got older GN!Y/N is still the same but they're more careful on what they say or do since they became aware on their own actions and doesn't want others uncomfortable and always ask if it's too much but when it comes to their loved ones, it's not too much especially to their best friends, Jamie and Cove. They like to hug and kiss them (on the cheek and forehead) whenever they have a chance leaving the two flustered. They ship those two and like to tease them about it just like everyone but doesn't do it much since they think those two need mercy from other people's teasing. Little do GN!Y/N know is that, Cove and Jamie like them as well! But Jamie likes to give hints about it while Cove... You know how Cove is. But GN!Y/N is too oblivious and think all of the hints are just friendly.
Jamie: "I like you!" *Give GN!Y/N a flower*
GN!Y/N: "Aww! How sweet of you! I like you too!"
Jamie: ( ╹▽╹ )
GN!Y/N: "You're such a great friend!"
Jamie: *glass crack noise and mentally shot in the heart.*
GN!Y/N: "You okay?"
Jamie: *shaking and clutching their chest.* "Yup."
In their adulthood, Cove and Jamie still try and their actions are more bold whenever they return their affection for GN!Y/N but sometimes fails. To the point GN!Y/N's friend got sick of it and tells them about the reason of their actions.
GN!Y/N: *the 6th time telling their friend about Cove and Jamie's weird way of showing their affection to them.*
Friend: Oh for crying out loud! THOSE TWO LIKE YOU!
GN!Y/N: And what about it?
Friend: *vein popping out* "OH MY SWEET LORD! Those guys are in love with you! Why do you think are the flowers for? Kissing you on the lips? Calling you nicknames? Normal frineds don't kiss each other on the lips!" *Shaking GN!Y/N on the shoulders fast*
GN!Y/N: "Ahh! What?" *A little dizzy*
GN!Y/N: "OH! That explain everything.. I think...?" *Gets it but doesn't get it at the same time*
Friend: "This dumbass." *Starting to think if they want to hit GN!Y/N in a head with a frying pan*
(GN!Y/N's is a Platoniromantic! Just a little fun fact for this whole thing.)
Platoniromantic describes someone who finds it difficult or impossible to distinguish between platonic (friendship) and romantic feelings, often experiencing them as the same or finding romance hard to define, and is typically considered part of the aromantic spectrum (arospec). ]
Sorry this took so long to post. I have been fighting with it for a while now ;-; and I’ve been busy with a passion project
If it helps, this is the third draft that I am somewhat satisfied with
so yeah…

Synopsis: What is the difference between romance and friendship? That hadn’t been much of a question to you until a friend exposed those boundaries. Now you have to figure out if those boundaries are worth crossing over, or if you were imagining it.
Note: I thought it would be funny/fitting if this took place in a college AU.
-----------------------------
“Cya later, my little chicken nugget.” You loudly whispered across the library.
A soft laugh escaped your friend’s lips as they audibly rolled their eyes. You cheekily smiled to yourself as you started walking over to your apartment.
But just your luck, you realized that you managed to leave your keys inside the apartment. You banged on the door while ringing the doorbell—a habit that never changed since you were a kid.
You hoped that one of your best friends would open the door for you. Somehow you, Cove, and Jamie managed to go to the same college. So the living situation was a no-brainer. In fact, you’ve never felt closer to the two.
In no time, a familiar head of sea-foam hair opened the door.
“Welcome back, forgot your keys?” Cove tried to tease but failed.
You wrapped your arms around him, giving him a welcoming peck on the cheeks before dropping your bag and sliding over to Jamie, who was on the couch.
“Guess who," you whispered, carefully placing your hand over their eyes.
A soft chuckle escaped from their lips, completely forgetting the movie they were watching.
"Oh, I don’t know~ It could be my glorious, elegant, intelligent, charming…” Jamie’s voice started to trail off, rolling through a laundry list of adjectives so long you almost feared they’d hit 200 before finishing. “...and absolutely unforgettable (Y/N)?" and absolutely unforgettable (Y/N)?"
“Yup!” you hugged them from behind, a bit shell-shocked by the paragraph of adjectives.
“Gotcha!” Suddenly, Cove came right behind you and tossed you over the couch. Which made you land right on Jamie’s lap.
Cove also jumped over but with a popcorn bucket in hand. However, it tipped over as the man plopped on the couch.
A hearty laugh almost escaped your lips as Cove pouted over the wasted snack. Jamie, however, did laugh, causing the man to flush red.
After the popcorn disaster was cleaned up—and by cleaned up, you mean Cove and Jamie silently judging you while you laughed and tried not to eat too many kernels—you finally collapsed on the couch between them.
“So…” Jamie started, clearly hesitating, “uh… how was your day?”
“Good! I’ll totally ace my philosophy quiz!” Despite the positive attitude, there was a sarcastic tone to it. Leaning against them, you caught the couple up on the day’s events. “And I may or may not have rescued a stray cat on the way to class. His name’s Sir Whiskers now, and he lives in a box under a tree.”
Cove groaned dramatically. “Do you ever just… exist without causing chaos?”
“Me? Never," you said with a grin, playfully kicking Cove on the side of his leg before nesting yourself deeper into Jamie’s lap. Jamie blinked, hands frozen midair, heart definitely not frozen.
But after a while, their hands moved as if this had happened countless times before. Playing with strands of your hair and tracing their fingers along your jawline. You were used to their touch; it was oddly comforting in a way.
The three of you settled into a comfortable silence, though you noticed the occasional glance exchanged between Jamie and Cove. Sometimes it felt like they were debating trying to tell you something.
The flowers, sweet notes, and random compliments? Were they trying to ease you into some big news that would inevitably change your relationship with them?
Though, a few weeks later, things got “weird.”
You had come back from class to find a single flower taped to your door with a note that said, "You make my days brighter.”
“Aw, that’s so sweet of whoever left this,” you said aloud, setting it on the table. “I hope they’re not allergic to me!”
Cove peeked from behind the doorframe. “Uh… maybe that was—”
“Jamie!” you called, looking around. “Was it you?”
Jamie stammered. “Uh… no? Maybe? Who knows! Definitely not me!” They quickly buried themselves in a blanket on the couch.
You just shrugged. “Well, whoever it is, thanks!” You kissed the flower lightly before putting it in water.
That night, while you were sleeping, both Jamie and Cove were internally screaming.
Days turned into weeks, and the incidents kept coming. Jamie would casually say, “I like you!” while handing you a random flower, and you’d cheerfully reply, “Aww! That’s so sweet! I like you too!” before adding, “You’re such a great friend!” Completely oblivious to the signs that were glaring right in front of you.
Jamie’s mental health was declining nicely.
Cove, on the other hand, had perfected the long, quiet stares, sometimes brushing your hand “by accident" or leaving tiny notes in your backpack that simply said, “You’re my favorite human.” You thought it was just… charming.
It wasn’t until your friend, Kris—an unfortunate, longtime observer of this chaos—snapped one day after the sixth flower.
“OH MY SWEET LORD!” Kris yelled, practically shaking you by the shoulders. “THOSE TWO LIKE YOU!”
You blinked, dizzy. “And… what about it?”
“WHAT ABOUT IT?! THEY GIVE YOU FLOWERS, KISS YOU, CALL YOU NICKNAMES! NORMAL FRIENDS DON’T DO THAT!”
“Oh… wait. That explains… something? Maybe?” You tilted your head, trying to piece it together, a little amused and a little confused.
Kris groaned, hand on their forehead. They were trying not to slap you into another dimension where you’d be less oblivious. “This dumbass… You’re literally surrounded by love, and you don’t even notice!”
Meanwhile, somewhere in the living room, Jamie was slowly unwrapping a fresh flower to leave for you again, and Cove was silently plotting the next “accidental” hand touch.
And somehow… you were blissfully unaware that your life had already turned into one big, chaotic, adorable love story.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
Kris’s words hit you harder than you thought. You assumed that the flowers and random touches were things that were unique to your friendship with Cove and Jamie. But now you are re-evaluating everything.
Sure, you loved to be affectionate to your friends, but were you treading on romance? You thought that you were much more careful this time around after the first incident. But you couldn’t help but think: were you giving out false signs? Or were you misconstruing the couple’s actions?
The last one made the most sense. The duo were already a pair, and people don’t need a third shoe for their pairs. Yet somehow, your heart tightened at the thought.
As you approached the apartment, you overheard something. Cove and Jamie were talking, frustrated about something.
You knew it was wrong to eavesdrop, but with recent events happening, you couldn’t help but wonder if this would reveal what was actually happening.
“Ugh!” Jamie groaned. “How oblivious can someone get?”
“We probably need to pop a ring out for them to actually realize how we—” You couldn’t hear the end of what Cove said, but you could figure it out without it. Cove and Jamie like someone, and they want to make their couple into a throuple.
A fog of weariness clouded your mind; your heart throbbed in its place as your blood ran cold.
You weren’t sure how to put your feelings into words, but the thought of another person being closer to your best friends than you brought a bitter taste to your mouth.
Without much thought, you unlocked the door and busted it open, revealing a shocked Cove and Jamie.
“(Y/N)?!” Cove yelped.
“Did you? —” Jamie spoke, but you cut them off.
“Do you guys wanna meet Sir Whiskers?" You exclaimed, trying to mask what you were feeling.
“Did you bring the stray with you?” Cove questioned, trying to look behind you for the stray.
“No, ‘cause I know you’ll make me take it back."
The couple sighed, looking at each other. It was then that they got an idea. One that will hopefully put the game of charades to an end.

You three stood over the brown cardboard box, “amaze” plastered all over it. There in the middle—covered in blankets—was an orange munchkin cat. Its soft meows pulled on your heartstrings.
You lifted up the tiny creature and placed it in Cove’s arms. He froze, scared that he’ll hurt it.
"Don't worry, honey bear! Sir Whiskers can handle being held.” You chuckled, watching as the seafoam-haired man stared at the cat’s blue orbs.
“Awh! He's so cute!” Jamie squealed, patting the cat as he purred like a car engine.
Sir Whiskers slowly blinked at the brunette. Then, a sudden realization hit Jamie.
Looking between you and Sir Whiskers, the resemblance was uncanny. Sure, you’re a human and he is a cat, and you both have different color palettes, but he still looked like he was you in cat form.
Cove must’ve come to the same conclusion, as the look he gave to Jamie said it all. You, however, were oblivious. Opting to play with the tiny creature.
“Well… Now we can’t just leave Sir Whiskers here.” Cove quietly spoke.
"Yeah, I know. But I doubt our landlord will allow us to keep him.” Jamie sighed, watching as you and Sir Whiskers tumbled around, not caring about the stares from passersby.
“Maybe they will? I mean, they're a cat person?” Jamie glanced at their partner, then back at you.
Uncertainty washed over them as a flurry of scenarios flooded Jamie’s thoughts. But the what-ifs stopped as you waved at them.
“Come on! You can’t meet Sir Whiskers if you’re just staring at him!”
A gentle laugh escaped the duo’s lips. “We’ll just have to ask.” Cove nodded along.
After a couple of hours, you three came across the landlord. That was when Jamie and Cove decided that it was the perfect opportunity to ask.
“Awh!!! Of course he can stay!” Muni cooed, patting the orange fluff. (Yes, it’s me; I'm a cat person).
“Really?” you questioned as joy flooded your senses.
Muni nodded, cat in hand, as it looked content to be there.
Jamie and Cove stood there stunned. They couldn’t believe that it was that easy, or that Muni agreed to it so fast.
But in the end, they were glad. Having Sir Whiskers as a new addition to your little family would be nice.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
You sat on your bed with Sir Whiskers lying on top of you. He was loafing with a faint smile on his face. A stark contrast to the absolute chaos that happened in the bathroom just moments before.
The scratches on your arm throbbed as you glared at the peaceful cat. His face was so tranquil that you couldn’t help but forgive him for all of his crimes.
“You’re lucky that you’re cute.” You mumbled, a smile creeping onto your face.
Sir Whiskers blinked at you slowly. According to your research the other night, slow blinks represent a sort of kitty kiss. You were so overcome by joy that you almost smothered him with human kisses.
However, as if he could read your mind, he side-eyed you. You gasped dramatically, "Don't look at me like that!”
He responded by stretching on you and digging his claws into your hoodie.
“Rude.” You pouted, booping his nose.
For a long while, there was silence between the two of you. But it was quiet. Too quiet. Your mind trailed back to Kris’s words. You had hoped that you’d forget it after a while, but the thought persisted.
“THEY GIVE YOU FLOWERS, KISS YOU, CALL YOU NICKNAMES! NORMAL FRIENDS DON’T DO THAT!” Kris’s groans echoed as you recalled the times when Jamie gave you flowers and the times when you caught Cove looking at you, only to panic once he realized you were looking back.
“Normal friends don’t do that…” You muttered as Sir Whiskers got off of you to go loaf in another spot on your bed.
Your head throbbed as an idea came to mind. It felt stupid, but you had to get it out right at that moment. “Okay, Sir Whiskers. I need your professional opinion.”
Sir Whisker's eyes widened as his ears perked up.
“So,” you began, staring at the ceiling, “hypothetically… if your two best friends were in love with someone… and you thought that someone was not you… but then you got weirdly upset thinking about it… what does that mean?”
Sir Whiskers continued loafing, probably not caring about your dilemma.
“Because,” you continued, gently scratching behind his ears, “I struggle with recognizing feelings. specifically between platonic and romantic feelings…” You paused.
“So why am I so upset about them bringing in another person to our trio?” You turned to Sir Whiskers as he slowly faced his head toward you.
“I mean, they’re already a pair,” you whispered. “And I'm just a third wheel…” Your voice wobbled slightly. “But I don’t want to be replaced.”
Those words hurt more than you’d like.
You buried your face into Sir Whiskers’ fur. He smelled faintly like the cheap pet shampoo you used earlier.
“I like hugging them. I like when Jamie plays with my hair. I like when Cove looks at me like I just invented gravity. I like when we’re all squished on the couch and it feels like the world shrinks to just us.” You swallowed. “Isn’t that what normal friends do?"
Sir Whiskers headbutted your chin. Shocking you with both a static shock and a realization.
You laid there, frozen. Your brain replayed everything. The flowers, the “I like you," The long stares…everything.
Your heart didn’t hurt because they might like someone. It hurts because that someone might not be you.
You slowly sat up, the cat jumping off of you and the bed.
“Wait. No. That doesn’t make sense,” you argued with the cat who wasn’t there anymore. “I don’t get feelings like this. I don’t sit around daydreaming about kissing people under fairy lights.”
Sir Whiskers flicked his tail, paws thumping on the hardwood floor.
“But it’s different!” you insisted. “I love them as my best friends.” Another pause. “…But I think I’d also hate it if someone else got to kiss them.”
Silence. A very long silence plagued your room as the final piece of the puzzle fit into place.
“Oh my god.” Your hands flew to your mouth. “Oh my god, I’m an idiot.”
Sir Whiskers meowed softly, as if in agreement.
“I don’t know if it’s romantic or platonic. I don’t even know if I know the difference.” You looked down at the tiny orange creature. “But I know that when I imagined them holding hands with someone else, I wanted to bite something.”
Sir Whiskers purred as you continued, “That’s not very ‘just friends’ of me, is it?”
The realization settled in your chest—not sharp, not scary. Just warm and slightly guilty.
You never understood romance, not even when you’ve dated other people before. Those people never made you feel like this, not the way that Cove and Jamie did. About romance—about you.
You stood up from your bed, eyes searching for the tiny fluff of fur. “So,” you sighed, “if they confess… and I say yes… and we become some weird chaotic college throuple… and that’s fine, right?”
Sir Whiskers stretched again, walking in front of your closed door before meowing again.
“You’re right. Communication… we’ll never know if I don’t find out.”
You opened your door to find Jamie with their fist up, looking like they were about to knock. Cove was right beside them, fist also up.
You three froze, a bit startled by the situation. Jamie's and Cove’s expressions were masked with nervousness, hopefulness, and a bit of terror.
“Can we talk?” Jamie’s voice came softly. “Please?” Cove added.
Your heart started pounding as you glanced at Sir Whiskers, who looked at you like, “Well?”
You swallowed, then gently set the cat beside you and stood. “Okay,” you whispered to them but also to yourself. “I also have something to say.”
You closed the door, following the couple into the living room.
Sir Whiskers didn’t know what happened to the throuple after that; he just knew that you returned with a reddened face and a bright smile that was threatening to be exposed.
He was fine with not knowing, after all; the throuple didn’t know that he wasn’t exactly a “sir.”
@gb-patch thank you so much for making such a sweet and loving game and a lovely lil guy too !! so much love for them and their work,,,
