Yesterday Artemisia Gentileschi’s painting, Lucrece (Lucretia) was auctioned, doubling the price reached for her work two years ago in 2017. Work by the artist rarely comes to market, and this newly discovered work was bought for Euro 4.8m, significantly more than the estimate of Euro 600,000 to 800,000.
