Co nám můžete doporučit?
We are lounging this week on the North Coast of America, specifically Vermilion, Ohio.
Anyone who grew up on the West Side of Cleveland is intimately familiar with an array of Eastern European dishes. And here in Vermilion, an iconic restaurant has every one of those dishes on its menu.
We have been coming to Vermilion every summer for the last 20+ years and Old Prague Restaurant has been around for all of those years and then some (it dates back to 1967).
“Old school” would be an understatement but that’s ok around here. The menu is segmented into Specialties, Schnitzels, Paprikash and Lakes & Streams (which to me is simply a place to list their Lake Erie yellow perch, a local favorite, especially during Lent).
I went for the goulash with spaetzle and was not disappointed. The sauerkraut balls were a nice appetizer. The Slovak-brewed Golden Pheasant ale was a perfect complement!
And the location can’t be beat. It’s just a few blocks south of the lake, which requires a gratuitous Lake Erie sunset photo
