Do I need more lingerie? No. Do I have some in a cart on a website? Yes.

This isn't related to my blog at all, but I wanted to share. It's going to be a long story so fair warning. From the time I was 5 until a few months ago I had a dog named Doofy (not pictured). Weird name, but she was absolutely my best friend. We got her from a puppy mill when she was not even a year yet. She was completely deaf, blind in one eye, antisocial, and quite grumpy. However, we took a chance on her. She grew to be the best dog I've ever had and honestly was the only dog I had growing up. In her last 8 years on this Earth she was completely different from her formal self. She was so happy, loved being with my family, slept in the beds with us, and played ball when she felt like it, of course. However in August 2016 we had to make the heart breaking decision to put her down. She was now almost completely blind and so uncomfortable she couldn't sit still for more than 5 minutes. Whenever someone touched her back legs she would try to bite them and couldn't go down stairs right. Other than that she was not in bad health, but she was tired and in pain. She left this Earth surrounded by the women who loved her the most. What do the two doggos in the above picture have to do with this? Well, after she passed my mom made a decision to adopt other older dogs, special needs or not, to give them a better life before they go. Sometimes we look at dogs that only have a few months to live and others have years, it doesn't matter to us. We just want to make sure that whatever time these old pups have left it won't be spent in the shelter. The lab on the left is 8 years old and almost completely blind, but a happy pup none the less. She is overweight and her owners could no longer take care of her, so my mom immediately volunteered to take her. The terrier on the right is 6 years old and although not that old or in bad health, she lived a terrible life. She was brought back to the shelter at least 7 times, abused in one household, and left outside so long in another that she's afraid to go outside by herself- she thinks we're going to leave her too. Long story short- adopt don't shop #1 and #2 don't forget the old dogs when you go to the shelters. All dogs matter, but please don't over look the older ones. They can be just as great as the young ones 💗
