Old Black Witch
So there's this book that my grandma used to read me when I was a kid that I ADORED called Old Black Witch by Wende and Harry Devlin.
When I had my son, my grandma duct taped the old broken spine and sent it to me to read to him.
He also adores it. As I was reading it to him last night, I was just realizing that it walks that fine line that a lot of kids books miss the mark on. It's descriptive and full of great visually stimulating adjectives without going over the kid's head.
(Admittedly, my uncle, myself and my siblings were pretty rough on the book.... #oops)
But anyway, I just wanted to give an appreciative shout out to an old kids book that is really dear to my heart, especially with fall approaching. Here's the back cover of the book with a baller blueberry pancake recipe:
