Friends Meet Again

For the longest time after the Doctor had left her, Sarah Jane was ashamed to admit that she shut herself away. After all, no one could understand what she’d been through.

Things changed when she met some of the Doctor’s other companions and she realized that they could understand what others might not, that they would see the bigger picture.

The coffee shop was relatively quiet, a pleasant side effect of Cambridge in the summer. Her laptop was opening and she was polishing an article while she waited for her guest. The change of scenery was doing good and not for the first time, Sarah Jane felt a bit of the travelling bug that had taken her by storm all those years ago.

Movement on the other side of the table alerted her that she had company and looked up to see Barbara sitting down across from her. Shutting her laptop, she smiled at her friend. “Thanks for meeting with me.”
