Mahadev Temple, Deobaloda. 🙏Location: Deobaloda, Bhilai, Durg, Chattisgarh. 🙏Deity: Lord Shiva. 🙏Idol: Shiva Linga of about 1.5 feet in height, which is approached through a highly ornate door entrance guarded by Shaiva Dvarapalas. The idols of Goddess Parvati, Ganesha and Hanuman can be found inside the sanctum. 🙏Construction era: 13th CCE. 🙏Built by: Kalchuris. 🙏Architect: The tower over the sanctum of Shikhar style temple is missing. The temple is constructed by using sand stone. 🙏Legend: It is said that this temple was built in just 6 months and that is why it is also called 'Chha Maashi' (chha means six and Maasi, in English - Months) temple. 🙏Beliefs: a) There is an interesting myth about a pond near this temple, which is believed to have an underground link leading to another town of Chhattisgarh, known as Arang. b) There is an ancient pool near the temple, whose water never dries up. Devotees worship Shiva with the water of the tank.It is believed that by simply bathing with the water of this holy pool can destroy all diseases. There is practice of Spraying this water for the purification of the house. c) The temple is not less than a wonder. The temple is without dome, the Swabhu Shivalinga has brown colour, the never-drying pool, the tunnel from the pool to the Arang. It is said that this temple was built by one person in six months. d) The temple is constructed with sandstone.
