They must have just polished the floor in the hospital lobby; it smells like the first day of school!
It might sound strange or random but the scent of Neutrogena exfoliating body wash reminds of my very first visit to NYC. It sends me right back to that time.
It was the body wash I was using back then when I was visiting my friend who was attending Barnard and living in an apartment on a street right off Broadway (I forget what street).
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
This popped up in a 70s sub I’m in, and gave me hella-flashbacks.
I forgot this stuff ever existed, and now I can smell it.

Riding my bike back to the apartment at the start of a thunderstorm in high summer, I passed by the Music Box Theater after running an errand. (haven’t been on a bus or train in six months) It was still there surviving by hosting drive-in movies and virtual streaming. Hope to the gods it remains. That place is very special in this city.
The temperature rapidly dropped, and I felt a hint of Autumn.
Anyway, I experienced two of my favorite scents that I could still smell through my mask — petrichor and fresh popcorn at a movie theater.
