after everyone telling him who he was, who he is and who he isn't, jay was probably just happy to befriend someone who didn't know him at all and didn't expect anything from him either. as much as i want the fact rapton has no imperium markings — which is apparently plot related — explored as a concept around jay and the administration, because it's a weird and interesting part of his design i want covered somehow, i also want their friendship to just be something jay can rely on completely unrelated to his past or identity issues. their friendship seems genuine and full of trust as it is, and i want it to stay that way. jay was probably happy as a clam to have a friend who looks, talks and spends time with him because of how he met him now, because of who he made himself to be now, not based on what he used to be.

I've not much against it, I just absolutely do not care for it at all. You'd think a comic spinoff about Varian exploring the Kingdoms would be right up my alley, but internally, subconsciously, I just never cared nor liked it. The fandom exploded about it, and shoved it down my throat everytime I opened the Varian tag, which is where I even developed a disdain for it.
I like the show because it's a developed, full show. Vat7k is a concept. Concepts, to me, are just fanfics that are slightly canon. And I like keeping tight to canon. It's not properly progressed for me to understand the hype. The characters aren't developed, we know next to nothing about them OR the Kingdoms which were supposed to be explored. And that's okay! A concept doesn't need to be perfectly explored or developed. Where it becomes a problem for me is when the fandom latches onto it and treats it like this full idea, this whole show. When it's not.
Being a Varian fan means people assume you love Vat7k and know everything about it or whatever. But that everything is mostly comprised of the fandom's headcanons, and it gets messy — is this information part of the (very small) canon or is it something most of the fandom just agrees is true? Ideas get opposed, headcanons wildly differ and most agree with some sort of consensus about what's actually happened in the concept, but you have no idea if it actually did. Which I really don't like. With the show, you have concrete evidence of events and are able to differentiate between what's the fandom headcanon, what's canon compliant, and what's canon divergent in order to fit a role. (Like a meme or fanart.)
But the only concrete information about Vat7k is a hastily written story, character designs and a few concepts. Not to insult the people who came up with it! It is interesting on its own merit, but it is not enough for me to be able to properly navigate the fandom.
Basically the same points apply to Hugo and Varigo. I have the tags blocked because I just don't want to see it. I don't understand the appeal, because there's no canonical visual for how they could possibly work together. To me, reading the few lines of story, the confession was sudden and out of nowhere — it didn't even seem like Varian and Hugo were friends, much less romantically interested in each other!
So all in all, Hugo and Vat7k just can't appeal to me, because there's not enough concrete information to intrigue me, yet everyone acts like there totally is and that they know these characters. I avoid it most of the time, and I tend to pretend it doesn't exist at all for my own sanity. Thank you for the ask!
Anyone who makes a TTS modern AU and puts Corona and Old Corona somewhere in America is just dead wrong. The story happens in Germany, and overviewing some castles, a close one to Corona (from a VERY brief search) would be the Neuschwanstein castle located somewhere along the borders with Liechtenstein. If you want a city take Munich.
The plot of a modern Tangled the Series is happening approximately 500 kilometers away from my house and I won't let that change.
The more I think about it, the more Vat7K doesn't make sense in the premise of Varian travelling through the kingdoms. Varian's, like, the least likely character to travel. He never exhibited any interest in it. He's Corona's royal alchemist and he belongs there.
They literally had to throw in something about his mom to give him a reason to go. (While Quirin's ties to the Dark Kingdom are right there.)
But y'know which character I'd believe that they'd want to travel through all the six kingdoms?
Rapunzel.
I know she's had her travelling adventure already, BUT that wasn't even that— far? She just went to the DK and back, and it was because the rocks lead her there, so I feel like she lowkey didn't have a say in the matter of where they were going, which feels oddly restricting for a character like Raps!
You don't have to give her that much of a reason to go, she'd just want to visit, surely! But if there had to be one, I bet making up some sort of royal reason for her to go wouldn't be that hard. Maybe even tie it with her being a fresh queen and wanting to explore her allies's land. And she'd bring Varian and Eugene along as her escort! That way, Varian can still be there and have a spotlight, and since he's with Rapunzel he could go into restricted places where they'd only let the royal team in or something. Let him find his own 7K related mystery, maybe meet other royal alchemists and have him tackle with that.
And since it would still have Rapunzel in, Disney wouldn't have that much of a problem with the spin-off.
it always feels so off when people give dib a more pacifist personality or make him act more,, normal?? when in the show he's often 🤏 this close to hurting either others or himself and he does NOT see zim as anything other than an enemy. he's still 12 but he's a neglected, misunderstood and hated 12 year old, and his behavior is one of the worse outcomes of that. but then i remember he just is a normal 12 yo in florpus and i understand where the people are coming from with their interpretations. the rewrite of the membrane family in florpus will always be my least favorite part.

I've always despised the argument that Rainbow Dash and Applejack should "switch elements", for many reasons, but right now I want to talk about this one;
In Wonderbolts Academy, when Lightning Dust creates a hurricane to clean the clouds and the hurricane endangers Rainbow Dash's friends, she wastes no time saving them and no time telling Lightning Dust off.
She then immediately goes up to Spitfire, who favors Lightning Dust over her, and tells Spitfire that if she favors someone who actively chooses to endanger others for her own benefit and when faced with that fact shows no remorse, then maybe the Wonderbolts aren't for RD and she quits.
She wasn't prompted to do that action by anyone. She immediately regretted it herself. The Wonderbolts were her world, her dream and all she ever wanted to be.
But if staying meant supporting an organization that let that happen, even if it meant she'd fulfill her dream, she decided it wasn't right because they endangered her friends.

I'm sorry? THE Rainbow Dash who gave up all her hopes and dreams in the blink of an eye for her friend's sake? Riiiiight...
