2 Reasons Why I am Calm About Olicity

As I sit and watch people panic about Olicity and how they are with other people, I sit calmly by and just enjoy the ride.  It is because of two couples I have shipped in the past:

Ross & Rachel:

Epic first kiss

It took until Season 2 & 3 for them to be together but then quickly broke up.  Even though there were a few moments where it seemed hopeful again, we had to sit through 7 more seasons until this moment:

7 years of waiting, watching them with other people, Ross getting married to someone else, getting married to each other but not wanting it until we could finally exhale.  And the show ended about 5 minutes after this.  There was no tumblr crowd to support the waiting either.

7 YEARS!

My 2nd reason:

Sydney & Vaughn

Epic first kiss

It took waiting until Season 2 for these two to get together only to be shortly be ripped apart again at the end of Season 2.  We had the terrible season watching Vaughn be married to Lauren, whom I knew was a double agent the entire time-mostly because I wished they would break up, and then finally at the end of Season 4 get engaged only to be “killed” in Season 5 and we go almost an entire season without him.

Finally almost at the end of Season 5 and the show, we get this:

Not soon after the show ends with the happy family.

In no way am I saying I want Olicity to wait until the end of Arrow, whenever that may be, but I am patiently watching their relationship grow.  It is satisfying to see them struggle through real issues as other amazing TV couples have and I know for a fact they will come out on the other end more in love than ever.

I have my two all time favorite ships to keep me calm.

Here’s the slow burn and eventual outcome we want, I mean look at these two.  There’s no denying they will find their way back to each other!  When you have an epic first kiss like that, it is history.
