Mediterraanse orzo met honingkip

Zin in iets heel lekkers wat helemaal niet moeilijk is om te maken en óók nog eens snel op tafel staat? Kijk dan niet verder want je hebt het gevonden. Dit gerechtje leent zich heel goed om zowel vega als met vlees te eten. In ons geval maakte ik deze mediterraanse orzo met honingkip. Heerlijke zoete kip die perfect bij deze pasta past. Want hoewel orzo op rijstkorreltjes lijken is het toch echt pasta. De pasta komt uit Italië maar je treft het eigenlijk rond de hele Middellandse zee aan. We gebruiken dus ook lekkere kruiden uit de Arabische keuken om hem goed op smaak te brengen.

Als er wat over zou blijven... Neem het mee naar je werk. 200 gram orzogroene asperge tips ( klein zakje uit het versvak) gegrilde gele paprika uit een pot2 sjalotten8 groene olijven1 teentje knoflook5 zongedroogde tomaatjesverse peterselieolijfolieras el hanout Voor de honingkip heb je nodig 2 kipfiletsbloempeper/zoutsojasaus2 tenen knoflook geperst2 el witte wijnazijn50 gram boter3 el honing We beginnen met groente voor de orzo. Snij de tomaatjes in kleine stukjes, snipper de sjalotten en de peterselie. De paprika snijd je in kleine stukjes, zo ook de knoflook en de olijven. Neem daarna een koekenpan erbij met een hoge rand. Schenk er een beetje olijfolie in en verhit de pan, voeg alle gesneden groente toe en roerbak het geheel tot het lekker begint te geuren. Breng op smaak met een beetje peper en zout. Kook ondertussen de orzo gaar in een pannetje met water en wat zout en giet af. Voeg toe aan de koekenpan en strooi er wat ras el hanout op, ik gebruikte ongeveer een theelepel. Laat de orzo staan tot gebruik.

De kip glanst helemaal van de honing. De kip bakken Snij de kipfilet schuin door het midden zodat je twee wat dunnere plakken kipfilet krijgt. Strooi peper en zout op de filetjes en haal ze dan door wat bloem, schud het overtollige bloem eraf. Verhit in een koekenpan wat olie en bak de kip om en om licht bruin. Voeg dan de geperste knoflook, 2 el sojasaus, honing, wijnazijn, en boter toe en laat het even pruttelen tot de saus wat dikker begint te worden.
