“ stop crying. ” (penny and euphemia)

Penny whimpers a little, then presses her lips together. She holds her breath, as if that will stop her from crying, and pressure builds in her face. “You’re mean,” she says, and she’s well aware that she sounds pathetic. She wipes at her eyes, pulls up the sheets to cover her half-bared chest, her frilly bra now seeming silly. She’s not sure why she keeps doing this, setting herself up for heartbreak, falling for people who she knows won’t love her back. Not that she loves Euphemia, of course, but she likes her, and there’s something in her that wants her. “I just thought -” A hiccup burst from her lips. She shakes her head, slips from underneath the sheets, looks for her top. “I’m gonna go.” Another pair of tears rolls over her cheeks, and she pulls on her top, her jeans, picks up her shoes, looks for her bag. Her voice is small when she adds, “I don’t need this.”

He disliked the waiting game. It was no doubt about control, but Cassius always preferred to be on the mission, not the one waiting behind. It was worse when he waiting with, of all people, Juliet. His expression automatically twisted into a a scowl at her words before he raised a challenging eyebrow, “Is that a threat or are you finally admittting you’re a coward?” 

They didn’t like each other, but he knew her. Like a sister, he thought, mouth twisting into a half-amused smile. Sick enough of the family he’d been born with, he never would have thought he’d chosen to shackle himself with another unwanted relative. And yet he had. And he knew she didn’t believe in this cause nearly so much as any of the others did. 

“It will be fine. They’ll be back soon.” His words are brisk, a poor attempt at comfort, but an attempt all the same, if only for the sake of Zelda and Diomedes. “And if they’re not, neither you nor I will rest until we find them. I’d break down the walls of Azkaban for Zelda,” he said fervently and then eyed her with something that was half-suspicion, “Isn’t that what you’d do for Dio?”

Dove is taken aback for a moment, and then, sharply says: “So? This world is fucking cruel.” Monstrous is what she is, not just cruel, and she knows it full well. She wants to hide her claws and fangs from her family, but perhaps it hurts them only more if she does. If there’s one person in her family for who she doesn’t feel the need to hide her cruelty from, it’s Olive. It seems she was wrong. Dove tries to retract her monstrosities, her cruelty, but her eyes shine with that restless, endless fury. “Would you rather have me be soft, and be robbed of it? Don’t you get it? I have to be cruel, or else I can’t manage it. I’m not going to apologise for it.”

laurie smirked at the sounds coming from the other, idly playing with the app on her phone, going up and down. “what’s the matter, babe? you okay?” laurie was so casual, but she couldn’t stop the facial expression due to what she knew was going on. the app controlled a vibrator currently inside the other and she was having too much fun messing with the other opposite of her, trying to eat their dinner out in public.
