Birthday Gone Wrong - Olivew

With everything that was going on with his family, Drew had practically forgotten that it was actually his birthday. He had never really cared that much before about it. He could put on a show, sure, but really it was just another day. So when he came home to find the letter, he smiled softly. For a moment forgetting everything else going on. He could hear Olivia getting Tegan ready, and rather then disturb them, he went to find the suit she had mentioned. It didn’t take long to find, or change, and coming back out he found Olivia. He instantly pulled her in for a kiss before whispering, “you’re amazing”.
Liv-05/08/2018
Olivia wrapped her arms around his torso, resting them over his hips as she stood up on her tippy toes out of habit to return his kiss. "You're amazing-er." She laughed and retorted, just standing and looking up at him for a moment before she shook herself out of her thoughts. "You're so old now. Happy birthday, Andrew Bennett" He wasn't, but Liv just liked to tease him about it. She stepped back and looked at him in his suit. "Looking fabulous as usual, I love it. Especially now that we match." Olivia grinned and watched Tia skipping over with her overnight bag and favorite teddy bear, stopping before Drew and held up her arms for a hug. "*Papa looks like a prince! Are you going to do prince things with mummy when I'm over at granma and grampa's? Without me? Mummy said no but why do you two look so pretty without me there?" Her previous smile had turned into a worried frown, and Olivia had to bite back laughter. She loved her daughter so much.May 9, 2018
Drew-05/09/2018
“Is that a word?” he teased, for a moment wondering what she was looking at him for. Perhaps he did look more tired then he realised, but really the amount of energy drinks and his own vanity should have made it look like nothing that unusual for the end of the day. “You aren’t that far behind me” he pointed out, “so this was the suit you meant then? Still, I don’t think I compare” he replied, once wondering what on earth he had done to be so lucky that he was with her. Hearing Tegan, he let go of Olivia’s waist, turning to face the little girl, instantly pulling a serious face at her concerns. As he picked her up he spun her, knowing how much she loved him doing it, and also how much Olivia hated him doing that. “Of course not sweetheart. How can we do prince things without my number one princess here?” he asked, moving to balance her on his hip. “We are going to do very boring adult things, whilst our grandparents spoil you” well maybe not boring, but she was far too young for that conversation.
Liv-05/09/2018
“If it wasn’t before, now it is,” she laughed and pulled him down for another quick kiss. “Still younger. But yes, it is, and you look as amazing as ever in it.” Olivia winked before letting him go so he could talk to Tegan. She definitely had her father wrapped around her little finger but Liv could also see that Tia loved her father so so much. “Hm, yes, very boring. Your father is a boring man.” Olivia smirked from behind her daughter so only Drew could see. “Now that you’re assured, are you ready to go?” Tia nodded enthusiastically and clapped her hands, giving Olivia a big kiss on the cheek and then gave Drew one as well. “Let’s go see granma and granpa! They let me eat candy!” Tia paused and slapped her hand over her mouth. “I wasn’t supposed to tell you that! Uhm.” Olivia laughed and shook her head. “Don’t eat too much candy okay Tia? But let’s head out. Did papa tell you how much he enjoyed your gifts yet?”
Drew-05/09/2018
"Well good. This suit is rather flattering" if there was one thing he did not lack in, it was confidence. "Then I must be the lucky one, to have managed to get such a beautiful younger woman to fall in love with me". He sent Olivia a look at her comment, hoping that Tia wouldn't pick up on it. Dangerous really, the little girl was so bright, it almost worried him. Almost. "Liv" he replied with a groan, "I thought I was meant to be the soft one here". He shook his head, "no I did not. But they are definitely the best presents I got today. Made everything better" he told her, before kissing her forehead. Although he imagined it was Olivia money... And possibly idea as well. He smiled before putting her down, knowing she was now far more excited for her adventure then anything here.
Liv-05/09/2018
"Has anyone told you that you're absolutely too cocky for your own good? And too smooth of a talker. Who said I was in love with you?" Liv lifted an eyebrow at him jokingly and laughed, swatting at his chest. "But I really do love you." She whispered and decided not to rile Drew up more with her comments that Tia probably shouldn't be hearing. "You'll always be the soft one. Tegan's got you wrapped around her finger!" At that moment, their daughter let out a happy laugh and lifted up a finger at Drew. "Papa is too big to wrap!" Olivia could only chuckle and shake her head at her daughter's comments, stopping when the doorbell rang. "There's the parents, you ready to let your favorite girl in your life go, Andrew?" She teased, opening the door and giving her parents a hug each in greeting.May 10, 2018
Drew-05/10/2018
"No one has ever said I am too cocky, only compliments there" he replied, very glad that Tegan wasn't old enough to understand that yet. "I know" he replied. It should have been so easy to say that he loved her too, but the words just didn't come. Perhaps there was something wrong with him. He could say it to Tegan easily, but everyone else was a battle in his mind and he couldn't understand why. Nathan probably. He had told him he loved him, and in return was told something was wrong with a part of who he was. "I don't think I want to be wrapped" he said, in complete seriousness to his daughter. Luckily saying something ludicrous was a skill he had long since perfected. "Never am, never will be" it was why back when they had the custody agreement he had always found it so hard when it came to letting her go back to Olivia. He rubbed his temples for a moment, suddenly feeling very dizzy. It had to be the spinning, though it seemed to be getting worse.
Liv-05/10/2018
Olivia rolled her eyes lovingly at Drew, knowing it was just his personality to say something like that. But she loved him anyways. Always would. She knew of that for sure. No one else would compare. She frowned however when he rubbed at his temples, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek and shooting him a worried glance as she took Tia from him and let their daughter run to greet her grandparents. "Everything alright, Drew Bear?" She murmured softly as she took his hand, making sure that her parents couldn't hear. "We'll go take a bath later okay? You haven't seemed too awake these past few days." "See you two on Sunday then? Don't get too busy, one grandchild is enough for now." Diane asked with a wink, while John glared at the both of them. "Mum!" Olivia laughed and made a shooing motion for her parents to leave.May 11, 2018
Drew-05/11/2018
“Yeah of course” he replied with a smile, trying to ignore the fact that the dizziness was just getting worse. A lot worse actually. He was aware of her saying something, but he couldn’t concentrate. Oh this was bad, the world seemed to have started spinning. Worse then that was the fact he felt weak in his legs, like if he stood for much longer he was going to drop. That had to be what was happening. He had been pushing himself too much on Red Bull and coffee, and his body couldn’t take it anymore. But what other option was there? Someone had to look after the firm whilst his brother was off, and he wouldn’t leave everything in Jane’s hands. But he also had to make a good impression on Olivia’s parents, and on top of that, he had to see his brother and help Isley with all of this. There just wasn’t time for sleep right now. Realising that if he did go down he would drag Olivia with him, he pulled his hand away, moving it to his head, before he felt his legs give way beneath him, and the world turned black.
Liv-05/11/2018
Her parents were about to close the door when she felt Drew let go of her hand, and she turned around at the last moment to put herself under him, causing her to stumble back but he didn't fall to the ground. Olivia grunted at the effort of lifting the man -- he was tall and pure muscle. "Mum? Take Tia home with you. Don't let her see." She half-whispered frantically as Diane gave them both a worried look before hurrying away and not letting Tia see what had happened. John on the otherhand quickly came over and lifted Drew up from Olivia. "Andrew?" Liv whispered, tapping his cheek lightly and worried. She felt his neck. Pulse was still there so wasn't dead. "Andrew, wake up! Andrew Bennett what's wrong?" She asked over and over again without a response from him. "Liv, call the ambulance, for now, I'll put him on the couch." Olivia was thankful that her father wasn't asking any questions right now. She didn't think she'd have the answers anyways.
Drew-05/11/2018
Slowly the world seemed to be coming back. He wasn’t sure what was happening, one second he had been standing talking to Olivia and her parents, or she had been maybe? He wasn’t sure how focused he had been at that moment in time. Now he was on the couch. He could hear words being said, but right now they didn’t seem to register in his mind properly. Everything was bright, had it been this bright before? He couldn’t remember. He tried to focus on the words, only really succeeding when he heard something about an ambulance being called. “No… don’t” he managed to get out. His instinct was to sit up, but that seemed impossible right now. Almost as if all the energy had been drained out of his body. Well great, that was really the impression he had wanted to give to her parents. And Tegan… she had still been there. She couldn’t have seen. He couldn’t let her realise how weak and disappointing her father actually was. “I’m alright, was just light headed” a terrible excuse really, but what else could he say?
Liv-05/11/2018
"Drew?" Olivia immediately dropped her phone and threw herself onto Andrew and hugging him tightly. "What's wrong?" She whispered, not caring that her father was standing there awkwardly beside them and probably trying not to reach out and pry Olivia away from Andrew. But hey, they had a kid, her father had to realize how children were made. "Before you answer what is wrong, I really hope you aren't lying to Olivia like that on the daily." John looked down at him and raised an eyebrow. Her father was almost the height of Drew so Olivia had to turn around and stare up at his face. "Dad..." She mumbled seriously, wanting her father to not be on his case so much. Liv stroked Drew's cheek and checked that his eyes were open. "Bennett kid, no ambulance, but we're taking you to the hospital."
Drew-05/11/2018
It was instinct to wrap his arms around her. She was real, an anchor back into reality, and out of whatever this madness was. What on earth was wrong with him? Bennett’s didn’t pass out. How was he meant to tell her what was wrong when it meant admitting his own weakness. He couldn’t, not when this was all his own doing. He had to be stronger then that, always be stronger then that. “I’m not lying” he had to keep repeating it to himself, like a mantra. He was alright, he was fine, he was alright, he was fine. “Honestly, the hospital doesn’t need to waste time on someone who only passed out” and he wasn’t sure he could handle going back there, he had spent too much time there with Daniel, he couldn’t face it, not over this. “Honestly, it was nothing” there, easy to believe, if he could do it, anyone could, and he had to believe it.
Liv-05/11/2018
"Not sure I can be with you on this one, Drew. You aren't fine and you're lying to yourself if you think you're fine." Olivia admitted, resting her head on his chest. "Bennett kid. You collapsed there, doesn't look very fine to me. Too much work?" John muttered. Liv chuckled softly, knowing that her dad was uncomfortable staying here and reached out to squeeze her father's hand briefly. "Dad, you can go. I'll take care of Drew. You just make sure you're not spoiling Tia too much. And try to figure out if Tia saw anything okay?" She stated softly, shooing her father out since she knew he didn't really want to stay but was trying his best to not seem to worried either. "Okay. He better not lie to you anymore." Olivia rested her chin on Andrew's chest and shook her head. "He doesn't lie, he's just a little strong-willed." Her father gave her a solemn nod before stepping out and closing the door behind him. "Andrew. What's wrong."May 12, 2018
Drew-05/12/2018
Were they right? He didn’t think he was lying. He lied to his family, but never her. It wasn’t fair of him to lie to her, not after everything. Not when he felt the way he did. He was too in love with her to lie. But he was fine, he had to be fine. He didn’t get to not be fine. He didn’t get to make mistakes. If he said something to Ellie she didn’t like, she stopped talking to him. If he said something to Daniel, he fired him. Who knew what Jane would do, and his parents had already stopped talking to him. Not being fine was a mistake, and mistakes were costing him everything. He couldn’t let them cost him her as well. He could handle anything, but not losing Olivia and Tegan. He was vaguely aware of John leaving. Good, he couldn’t keep making mistakes in front of him. “Nothing, I’m fine” he repeated softly, if he could make himself believe it, maybe she would believe him too.
Liv-05/12/2018
Olivia watched the gears turning in his head before he spoke in a whisper. And she gave him a worried smile, shaking her head softly at him before getting up and returning with a blanket to drape lightly over the both of them. "You want to believe you're fine is the better response here. Even if you're not. How many hours have you slept since you first came home from the hospital, Andrew? You're at work most of the time, and any time you should be resting you're spending with Tia because you think she won't love you if you didn't. But I think she's old enough to understand the 'papa is tired so he needs sleep' phrase. She's never going to hate you and you need to get that into your head." She explained softly, reaching under the blanket and interlacing their fingers together. "Tegan is gone for the weekend, have some rest okay? Or else we'll never get to testing out what it's like to fool around with you in a bathtub that I had prepared and we can't have that now can we?" Olivia teased. "If you don't get some sleep I swear I'll never let you see me with clothes off until you agree to getting some rest."
Drew-05/12/2018
As she left to find a blanket, he rubbed his temples, trying to clear the fog in his head. It felt like it was blocking him from reality, but he had no idea how to get out of the system. Hearing her come back in he relaxed as she lay down with him. “Enough” he replied to her question about sleep. He wasn’t really sure. He had grabbed an hour here and there but that was about it. He just didn’t care enough to make the time for it. Everything else was more important. “How can I? You realise I hate my parents because they never made any time for me?” he pointed out. It was worse then that though, he knew he should not want anything to do with them, and yet he still wanted their approval. Nor for the act that he played, but for who he really was. Was the real version of him truly so awful that they couldn’t stand to be near him? It seemed to be that way, and he didn’t really know how to handle it. “You can’t bring up the bathtub and then say I can’t see you naked” he replied with a groan, although right now he wasn’t sure he could even move. He sighed softly, moving his free arm around her waist, “I’m sorry”.May 13, 2018
Liv-05/13/2018
"Andrew Bennett." Olivia let out a loud sigh and kissed him softly on the forehead. "You make too much time for Tia. She'll love yous till if you cut that time in half and take the other half to do something for yourself okay? Or if that pains you too much to think about doing things for yourself, how about every weekend my parents take Tia? They've been thinking about moving over here. But they're not sure, but would love to take her for a month or two back to New York if they don't end up moving here." She explained, voice hushed, unsure how loud she should speak. She didn't want to be giving Drew a headache. "Well if you sleep for a while right now maybe after that you'll actually have energy for the bathtime activities, honey." Olivia teased. "Why are you sorry? You haven't done anything wrong."
Drew-05/13/2018
“It isn’t just for her sake though. One day she’s going to be all grown up and not want to spend time with us” and he knew it was something he would have to accept when the time came, but for now it was something he feared and not a reality. “Weekends are fine, but a month? I barely managed the weeks when we had the custody arrangement. Unless it’s when we go on honeymoon” though that they hadn’t really talked about. There had been too many other details that they had needed to sort out. The wedding itself, and their future home. Her apartment was fine, but it didn’t yet feel like they had found a home together. “Only if you stay here with me, I won’t try anything I promise” he replied, knowing he slept better when she was with him. “Because you planned all of this, and I… I can’t even handle some family drama”.
Liv-05/13/2018
"Andrew, that day will come, but that day will also pass because she'll be past that adolescent stage okay? Stop worrying. You're going to get wrinkles!" Olivia laughed softly and smoothed out his forehead gently with her hand. The man thought too much. And though that was a good thing for his job, it was terrible for his health when he overthought things. "A month will fly by, they want to take her for the summer probably. It's not like we can't go to New York, Drew. But that's a thought for another day okay? For now it'll be weekends. As for our honeymoon...where did you want to go? Because as much as I love Tia, I think it'd be nice to get a solid chunk of time only with you." She reassured him. "Not going anywhere, honey." She smiled and shifted a bit so she could pull him his head against her chest, kissing his hair. "Now sleep while I catch up on some TV time. And don't be sorry for something like that. It's your birthday, so it's your day. Which means we do whatever you want. And I'm pretty sure right now your body wants sleep."
Drew-05/13/2018
“I’m always going to worry. I never want her to feel the same way I did growing up, because it sucks” and still did. Even now. Her parents had come to meet their grandchild, his parents had just cut him out of their lives. It was what he had always wanted, but he had wanted it on his terms for once. Not this. “Guess we can’t really argue, they have missed four years” his doing, he knew that. Still a month was a long time. “I love her, but yeah she is not coming on our honeymoon. I haven’t thought about it. Europe maybe?” he suggested, of course it was a big place, but it was far away from all of this, and maybe that was what they needed. “Still, I saw all of the work you did. But it’s not just that. I’m sorry I asked for everything to be hidden for so long, I’m sorry about the constant draining arguments with my siblings, and… I’m sorry I can’t tell you how I feel” especially the last one. The words were there, but when he tried to say them aloud, it felt like his brain had closed down on him.
Liv-05/13/2018
"Well stop worrying for today. It's your day, not hers. Be selfish for once," Olivia reassured him. She knew he could see how much Tia loved him, but she didn't think he knew that Tia's love for him wouldn't ever waver. "Europe would be nice, visit my distance cousins I've seen like... once and my parents can't complain if we took off for a long time. What about letting them take Tia for two or three weeks and we'll just go around Europe during that time? Would that make you feel better about not seeing her in person for so long? We can always video in." She asked, hoping maybe a long honeymoon could also take his mind off of all the other stresses in his life. "Andrew Bennett, you showing me that you love me is more than I can ask for. And I'm grateful for that. I wish I could do more for you." She smiled against the top of his head and rubbed idle circles around his back, pausing for a moment before whispering. "I love you forever, Andrew Bennett. And I don't need you to say it back to me."
Drew-05/13/2018
"I'm always selfish, you know that" he had been told it enough times so it had to be true. Could he argue with it though? If he wasn't selfish then he would have been able to let her go and find someone who deserved her. God knows he would never be good enough for her, or Tia, and yet here he stayed. "No one could complain if it's our honeymoon. Someone will have to take her, sounds like it would solve all of our problems" otherwise he wasn't sure that he would be able to go a month without his daughter. "Do me? Olivia you have done everything" he whispered, feeling himself relax at her touch. "Might not need it, but doesn't make it ok that I can't".
Liv-05/13/2018
"I don't know who's been feeding you these lies, but you're far from selfish, if you were really selfish I don't think we'd be where we are today. And the past few weeks have proven you to be completely non-selfish I think. Didn't you say you only care about my opinion? Because if that's the case you're selfless, not selfish." Olivia murmured softly, her hand continuing to rub his back soothingly. "Oh hush, go to sleep Andrew. I love you. Everything will be okay, I promise. You show love, and I think that's better than saying it. Remember how I stopped sleeping around after Tia was born and always just told you it was because of Tegan? That isn't the complete story. Even back then, I knew no one else could compare. So the most I did was go on dates until I was able to ask you to be mine one day. I won't be going anywhere. Ever. All yours. Whenever, wherever, and however you need me."May 14, 2018
Drew-05/14/2018
“Maybe not with you. Why would I be? You’ve given me everything” he pointed out. But his family it was different. He was trying right now, but why he didn’t really know. He had still spent ten years manipulating them for his own gain. All for nothing now, his father was never going to forgive him for this. Maybe that was good in the end, if being a parent had taught him anything, it was that his own had been toxic. It just made him more mad at himself that he still wanted their approval. He should know better then that. “That doesn’t mean you don’t deserve more. Only you think I show it, and only you see anything in me that isn’t monstrous” he replied, her actions were working though, and he knew it wouldn’t take much longer before he did fall asleep.
Liv-05/14/2018
"I think I have an inkling of what you're thinking right now. But trust me, time will fix things. And if they don't, it's not your loss." Olivia murmured, tucking the blanket in tighter under him. She knew physical contact was important for him, and she tried her best to always give it to him, even if she wasn't always sure if it was enough. "I'll take what you can give, Andrew. I'm not going to push you to be someone you aren't. And you're definitely not a monster either. At most maybe a cute cookie monster," She teased with a soft laugh. "I'm serious, Andrew. I love you. Now go to sleep because you're interrupting my TV show watching."May 15, 2018
Drew-05/15/2018
"You know me better than anyone" and knew what was going on with his family too well. No one outside of it should have to put up with the chaos, why she did he would never understand. "I know you do, my point is that there is so many people out there who could give you so much more" an observation but nothing more. He wanted to give her the world, he just couldn't. "No, I am one" he had become one to survive, now it was impossible to shake. He wasn't entirely sure what she said, sleep taking over his mind. An uneventful sleep, fairly normally for him, dreams rarely bothered him. When he did wake up he could feel her breathing next to him. For a moment he was silent, just listening to it. Though soon it was evident she was still awake, "what time is it?"May 16, 2018
Liv-05/16/2018
She moved down a bit, getting half an hour of sleep herself once she was sure that Drew was asleep. Thankful that when she woke up he was still asleep and getting the nap he needed, Olivia lowered the volume on the TV and just watched him for a while, stroking his forehead. He looked so much younger like this. Worry-free and relaxed. So when he stirred a few hours later, Olivia chuckled and kissed him softly on the lips. "It's four in the morning. Go back to sleep, mon amour." She whispered softly, wrapping her arm over him and pulling him tighter against her. "Or if you're up for it we can move to our bed instead if you'd like that more than the sofa?"
Drew-05/16/2018
"You know, when you call me that, sleep is the last thing on my mind" he pointed out. How it had got to that stage he didn't know. But hearing her say that, and in French... It was never going to just be something he could ignore. "Bed is probably more comfortable" he agreed. If it had been that long, maybe he would ha e feeling in his legs again now.
Liv-05/16/2018
"Oh? Est-ce vrai, mon amour?" Olivia teased before giving him a light kiss and then getting up off the sofa. She gently pushed him up into a sitting position before wrapping one of his arms over her shoulders and one of her arms went around his waist. "I'm sorry I'm not strong enough to carry you, but I'll try to take as much weight as I can and you walk as slow as you need okay?"May 18, 2018
Drew-05/18/2018
"Oui" least growing up in a rich family, he could at least speak french. "Olivia... I passed out, not injured myself, I can walk" or he could walk as far as the bedroom at least. That much he was certain of, because there was no other option. He was a Bennett, they never showed weakness, not like this. He could walk it, he had to walk it.
Liv-05/18/2018
"Andrew Bennett!" Olivia screeched, smacking him lightly when he tried to walk by himself. "I know what you're thinking: 'I should be able to do this', but no, Drew, stop. Cut yourself some slack. Besides, I'm not THAT weak. If you don't listen to me about what's best for your health I will LEAVE you!" Olivia would never, but Drew's need to always be able to do things was irking her. "Drew, we're getting MARRIED. That means we're PARTNERS in crime and that you should and can lean on me and don't need to be able to do everything by yourself." Her voice dropped down to a whisper when he stood up, and she threw his arm over her should before giving him a very soft kiss. "Sorry I yelled just then. But seriously, I mean it, Drew."May 19, 2018
Drew-05/19/2018
“I know you’re not weak” that had never been the problem. He had known that since she had told him about the pregnancy. He was the weak one, always had been. “It isn’t slack, I can’t just give into this, I have to fight” he always did. The only time he had ever missed school as a child was when they had forced him to go home because he had a fever. He had to be the best, he always had to be the best, but he had always also been alone. “And mentally I am sure that I do, but physically I am fine, it’s just tiredness” not that he was actually making any move to pull away.May 20, 2018
Liv-05/20/2018
"Oh Drew," Olivia sighed and shook her head with a small smile, wrapping both her arms around his waist and slowly making their way to the bedroom. She wasn't going to let him walk. His ego and pride probably didn't like it, but she knew his body needed it at the moment. "You know, when it's just us alone, I want you to be able to let go. We can start with that okay? It's okay to need help." Liv smiled, as she tucked him in before crawling in after him and lying down beside him. "Showing weakness is strength sometimes you know?" She looked at him, having a good idea of what was probably going through his mind right now. "And I know you probably don't want to be having this discussion right now, but I think we need it, Andrew Bennett."May 21, 2018
Drew-Last Monday at 12:19 AM
Much as he wanted to argue, to tell her that he could do this, he had realised that there was no point. Besides his legs still felt like jelly. Compared to the sofa, the bed felt like heaven as he sunk into it. "You know when I was a kid I heard my parents talking one day. They talked about how great Jane and Daniel were. But me? Dad asked if he was even my father given how weak I was. This was when I was still the youngest so I must have been what... four maybe?" And the last time he had let himself be weak. He was a Bennett, he had to prove that. "You might need to be more specific, there's probably many discussions we don't want to have".
Liv-Last Monday at 12:44 AM
Olivia rolled over and listened with a neutral expression, trying to keep her anger in check. "Why are you still trying to please him? Why are you still trying to live up to his expectations when you're almost thirty Andrew? You're successful. Does it matter what he thinks when you got here by being who you were?" Olivia asked softly. "This. This is the discussion that you won't want to hear but I'm going to give to you because I love you and you hurting makes me hurt." She sighed, resting her head in the crook of his neck. "Do you even talk to your father? Because if you don't I don't see why you're trying to live up by his standards. I'm pretty sure you're going to have to deal with me for the rest of your life, not your father." She teased softly, trying to lighten the mood for him. "And I don't want you to try and live up to anyone's expectations anymore. Live up to your own. Not mine, not your father's, not Tia's. Your own. Do what you like, and do what you want to do. I don't want you to show weakness and talk to me because I told you to, I want you to do it because you want to. But I don't want you to pretend to be strong because that's what you think your parents want either. I love you. I'll always love you. I don't think I'll ever love anyone else if that makes you able to do what you want more okay? I love all of you, and that's never going to change."

It was a fair enough question really. He had always made it clear that he hated his parents. Why it now mattered to him he didn't know. "Because... Because for once I need to hear him say he is proud of me. Not the person I've been pretending to be, but proud of me. I didn't get here by being who I am. I got here because of the family name" even now he was working on the family business. Something he was wondering about changing. "Hurting you is one of the few things that terrifies me"he whispered, not even sure if it was loud enough for her to hear. "Not since he least about Tia. Same with mum. I don't want to be the parent in that relationship. He can come to me" not that he had, he was wondering if they had even noticed. "That's easy to say, not easy to do . I have no expectations anymore. I spent a lifetime trying to live up to my parents, and when I did want to break away... I did it in a way that probably makes me more like a Bennett the anything else".

"Honey, no. If he can't accept you for who you are is he any better than Nathan?" Olivia raised an eyebrow at him. If Drew really needed her father to say that, she was pretty sure she could arrange for it with her parents. Nothing that money couldn't buy in this world. Money and connections. Both of which she had. And if that was what Drew's happiness required, she'd stop at nothing to make it happen. "Andrew Bennett, from what your saying, did I not get to where I am today because of my family name as well? Besides, you are good at what you do, you DESERVE what you have today so stop underestimating yourself." Olivia only shook her head and pulled him against her for a slow kiss, trying to convey all her emotions and love for him into it. To show him that nothing needed to be in a hurry and that she'd always be here for him no matter what. She really didn't know if anything would stop her love for him. "You're not going to hurt me Drew, you always treat me like I'm about to break, and I promise you, I won't. The only thing we've broken are tables and chairs. Although I am hurt that you're terrified by hurting me, but not by me as a person. I was really hoping that you were terrified of me," Olivia smirked, trying to lighten the mood and make sure he knew that he didn't have to treat her like she was going to break. "You're too harsh on yourself, Andrew."May 22, 2018

"Nathan wasn't that bad, not in comparison. Least he was honest about it" but as painful as it might be, he wouldn't pretend Nathan was s total villain. He had loved him once after all. But the man had never been cruel, least not in the way that his father had been, perhaps he was being silly and petty. He was sure his father had done his best. He had to have least tried to have done that... right? "You're wrong Olivia, I don't deserve any if this" he didn't deserve her. He had said that, or words of that effect, since the start. One day it would be a screw up too far, and he couldn't blame her. As she kissed him , he pulled her closer. He knew nothing would happen, he just needed her closer. He shook his head at her words, "It isn't you I am scared will break, it's us. One day I'll do something that's too much and..." He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to sort out his thoughts. "No, you're not harsh enough.(edited)

Olivia glared at him, and cupped his cheeks with both her hands, annoyed that he was always putting himself down when he was so accomplished. "I am never wrong. So, repeat after me. Andrew Bennett is perfect. Good? Good." Her glare turned into a smile again, letting him pull her closer. She always felt so small when she was beside him, but in a good way. Liv felt protected, never scared of how big the man was. "Mon amour," Olivia shook her head and ran her fingers gently through his hair. "You managed for four years without an 'us'. I'm sure you can manage more. Besides, I don't really think there's anything that you could do to break 'us'. Even if there was, I assure you, wrap me up in your arms and give me a kiss like you always do and I'll be a goner, like usual." She laughed brightly, bringing up her own arms to wrap around his neck.May 23, 2018

"I can't repeat that. I'm not perfect. I'm not staying that as a put down, I wouldn't want to be perfect. If I was... the mistakes I've made, the things I've done... somehow they all led me here to you. Why would I want to change that?" And maybe he would spend the rest of his life making amends for all he had done. But he wouldn't change any of it, as long as it meant he got to keep lying here with her in his arms. "You say managed. I've been in love with you for at least three of them. It's also why I kept saying I'd never be good enough. I believe that, but it wasn't the only reason. Never having you seemed less painful then losing you" it was something that still scared him even now. Olivia had been more than patient with him, but how long that could last, he was scared to ask.

"You're pretty perfect to me, I just want you to know that." Olivia chuckled softly at his words, knowing that the man was very stubborn when it came to most things, and no one could really convince him otherwise. "Andrew Bennett. If you don't want to lose me, I don't think you'll ever lose me, love." She assured him, a little curious why he was worried all of a sudden. She didn't really fancy going anywhere or doing anything important without him. And unless he wanted her gone, she didn't really think she'd leave him either. "Tell me again, what's my last name? I'm pretty sure it's yours is it not? I think that's pretty official and lasting." Olivia assured him, twirling a strand of his hair absentmindedly around her finger.May 24, 2018

"How can I be? I've lied since day one, and pulled you into it with me. And for what? Money" money he was now never going to get. It wasn't that he was desperate for money, he never had been. That money was something else to him. It came from a dark part of him that he didn't want to admit existed. "I never want to lose you. But I see my father, I see what I'm going to become..." he wasn't sure how to explain it. They shared DNA, how was he going to be anything but a monster when that was in his blood? "Poitier? Unless you've done something strange, we still have different surnames".
Liv-Last Thursday at 10:42 PM
"You know, if you wanted money, I could've given it to you. I would've doubled what you wanted just to make sure you didn't have to go down the path you did." Olivia sighed, patting his hand. "You're not going to become like your father m'love. Whoever your father is, it's not in the DNA, it's by choice, so you should stop worrying. I know I didn't take genetics, but I did take basic biology, and that's not how it works." Shook shook her head and laughed. "No silly, you're supposed to say Bennett. I won't hyphenate either if that's what you prefer." Olivia pulled him against her again, shifting up so she could tuck his head against her chest, gently stroking the side of his cheek. "Go to sleep Drew-bear. We'll talk in the morning when you feel better."May 25, 2018

"It wasn't about money for moneys sake. It was about his money. After everything my parents have put me through, I thought that I at least deserved to get my inheritance in the end" and now it had all cone to nothing. His father probably would have it written into his will that Drew lost everything. Was it possibly to do that? He had no idea, his father would be the one to find a way. "Maybe not DNA, but he was the man who raised me. His blood in my veins, his teachings in my head. I'm a time bomb" that was how it felt. That had to be the reason everyone had believed in his act. That was a scary thought. "That would be a lie though, we aren't married yet. Olivia it's your name. If you want to hyphenate, if you don't want to hyphenate, that is your choice" he wasn't going to force her either way. A name was a name. "Mmm" and in the morning he would have more control over his senses, and more importantly, his filter.
Liv-Last Friday at 3:24 PM
"You don't need it." Olivia murmured soothingly. "You deserve so much more than the money he could give you. But if you need to get it, I can always ask my dad to sue him into oblivion." She laughed, kissing him on his forehead. "I'm going to disagree with you here. Is Dan like that? No. Are your sisters like him? No. And you won't be like him either. And do my best to make sure of it okay?" Olivia could see why he thought that, but she knew Drew. And she knew he wasn't ever going to end up like his father, not when he was so thoughtful about it all. She laughed softly at his comments. "I love you, Drew-bear. Always."
Drew-Last Friday at 4:26 PM
"Isn't about need. It's revenge. For all of it. That's the thing he cares most about in the world, figured that it was the least he deserved. I don't need it, I don't need to sue him for it. I just want something from him, anything" and he loved the money. If he could get the money, it was the closest thing. That was what his father loved most in the world. "Wouldn't know. None of them are parents yet" or at least parents who had their kids. There as Daniel and Avery's daughter, but she hadn't been raised by them. "Ok, do not change your name to anything that involves bear"
Liv-Last Friday at 9:37 PM
"Andrew, you're going to hurt yourself more by being so angry with him. As much as I'd love to see you defeat him, I'm going to go against my instincts and recommend that you let this one go. You're going to hurt yourself, the ones you love, and everything else in between if you keep the grudge. He's your father. Could've been a much better one. And you won't become like him at all." Olivia stated carefully. "If you don't go to sleep right now I'm going to name our next child bear. Sleep. And I'm not letting you get up until you've slept for ten hours. And we can do all the birthday things I had planned out tomorrow."May 27, 2018
Drew-Today at 6:06 PM
"How can I be anything else? There's parents out there that are worse, I know that. But he has made me feel like a mistake a failure my entire life, I deserve something from him for all of that" of that he was certain of. He would get it eventually, one way or another. He didn't know when or how, but he would. Nothing drastic or illegal, but something, anything to make his parents realise just how wrong they had been about him, and just how much they had underestimated him. "Liv it's already 4am, if I sleep for ten hours then it'll be the afternoon and neither of us will sleep tomorrow night" he pointed out, "there is also no way in hell our next child is going to be called Bear"
Liv-Today at 6:10 PM
"Andrew. You've never been a mistake. He's a jerk, and he doesn't deserve even a thought from you. But if getting something from him is what you need, I guess all the power to you. Nothing I say is going to stop you is it?" Olivia shook her head and chuckled. "Well if you don't sleep enough I will name our next child Bear. Maybe Drew-Bear Jr if you decide to be really difficult." She smirked. "Stop arguing with me, we'll talk tomorrow." Liv murmured, waiting until she was sure Andrew was asleep before she let herself fall asleep too.
Drew-Today at 6:53 PM
"He is still my dad" he replied with a shrug. And as wrong and twisted as it was, he couldn't change the fact that he needed something, anything from him. Right now anything would do, but he refused to be to one who reached out. For once his father could be the parent in the situation. "I am always difficult but you are not calling our child that" he replied, closing his eyes, focusing on her heartbeat as he let sleep take over.
