Olivia Garner Meets World Leading up to the release of “NIGHTED Life 9: Gone” on March 1st, we’re posting one interview a day with each contributor. In this zine, 8 shooters respond with photos and writing to one of three questions. What’s the closest you’ve ever come to dying? What do you want done with your body when you die? Which death has had the biggest impact on your life and why? 1. Without going into detail, can you share which question you decided to answer for NL9? I answered the question about a death that had greatly impacted me. 2. Do you remember having a moment of realization in your youth when you grasped mortality? The first time I actually realized my mortality was when I was 7 or 8 watching Boy Meets World. It was the episode where Shawn's dad died. Before that I'd never really been exposed to death. After seeing that I ran into my mom's room and cried and told her that I didn't want either of us to die. 3. What made you decide to pick up a camera and start shooting film? In 7th grade my best friend's dad took me to a pawn shop so I could buy myself something with the birthday money I had just gotten. I saw a Nikon SLR and thought it was so pretty. He taught me how to use it and bought me my first rolls of film. 4. How did you go about compiling the shots for NL9: Gone? When choosing the pictures for "Gone," I tried focusing on the feelings and atmosphere of death or, more specifically, dying loved ones. For example, some of the photos I chose were in a friend's deceased grandfather's house. With this group of photos, I wanted to show fleeting memories and the sense of nostalgia and remembrance that surrounds losing someone. 5. In 10 words or less, what do you think truly -- as far as you can explain or imagine -- happens after death? Your aching stops but grows for those dearest to you.

The blues by Olivia Garner
okay so I'll post this here because my bandmates are either at school or work.
Twin Cities has a collective 496 dollars between money we've made and money out of my pocket. (220 out of pocket and 276 that we've made)
Before we tour it's somewhat definite that we're going to record our old set of six songs (Anchors Rusted Chains, Black Dawn, No Sleep, Lack/Luster, Leaves, and the "new" song) and three or four new songs that are in the process of being written. If anyone(Olivia Garner) is interested three of the songs are this, this, and this. These are to be released as a demo and split. We aren't going to announce who the split is with just yet though.
Anyway, we know that we're going to/need to record but we don't know with who yet. I've looked at a few studios. For sake of clarity I'm going to refer to them as studio A, B, and studio whales gold team.
Studio A is in Baton Rouge, we were told he could hook us up with a deal but I don't know how good a deal would be. Between gas money and the project price being 400 dollars a song. I don't know if we could swing that.
Studio B is in New Iberia, it's closer and we could drive home when we finish but they record a lot of shitty deathcore bands so I'm not sure I can accurately judge the quality. They are pretty cheap at just 300 dollars for 3 or more songs. I can dig it.
Studio Whales Gold Team is Jordan Faour and Anthony Patton from the band Whales and I love them. They live in Houston though(not even really houston) and that's quite a drive. They'd do it for free.
To sum this all up it's somewhat vital that we print merch to help float us. I'm set on a print shop. 225 for 50 black shirts and 175 for 50 white shirts. That's 400 dollars flat.
I'm trying to set up a garage sale to raise some extra money, we need to get a van, and I'm probably going to end up selling a lot of my shit. I'm going to continue to put in money from my paychecks and if I start working normal hours again then I should be able to make 300 dollars quick.
I frequently have the urge to steal a car and hang out with Olivia all day. Missing her always.
